• Led the LV design package and contributed to a collaborative team effort for the design, review, and documentation of Perth MetroNet Rai Extension project comprising 32KM of TCL/YRE Lines. The various components include multiple Passenger Stations, SERs, TSERs, OTFs, Comms LOCs, Radio-sites, and the upgrade of three 132kV/25kV feeder substations.
• Coordinated with multi-discipline engineers including Architectural, Civil, Structural, Rail Infrastructure Mechanical, Hydraulic, Fire Services, HV, OLE, Communications, Signalling, Earthing & Bonding, and MCRs.
• Collaboration and coordination tools include Revizto, Bluebeam Studio, ProjectWise, and Team binder.
• Design tools include AutoCAD, PowerCad, and AGI-32.
Seconded by Dubai Golf City to Rafal from Oct 2017 till Dec 2019. Directed the MEP design and construction of new developments. Reviewed and performed value engineering for MEP designs of external MEP and Infrastructure Consultants.
• Managed the MEP design and supervised the early-construction stage of the MEP works for the Al Nayfah 196-Villa community complex
• Planned and supervised the execution of power segregation for an existing 2B+G+P+64F mixed-use 12 MW power development.
• Directed the rehabilitation of smoke detection and fire suppression systems in a 26-building residential complex.

Led a team of 15 multinational engineers to supervise the early construction stage of Al-Ain New Hospital comprising 732 beds including construction supervision of a 33KV substation. Created multiple construction packages and awarded each package to a different installation subcontractor. Utilized BIM tools for the preparation of shop drawings and clash detection. The MEP works were valued at $300 million.
Completed a temporary assignment for an 80-story mixed-use development in Astana, Kazakhstan. Reorganized the procurement department and expedited the delivery of the material and equipment.
Headed the MEP Department. Reorganized the MEP department and wrote its execution methodology. Led the execution of multiple projects with a total value of $375 million. Utilised in-house resources and external subcontractors to deliver projects including ENEC Hotel in Ruwais, 460 community prestigious villas, Petroleum Institute, and Staff accommodation.
Completed the design management and contract award stages of the project. Coordinated with international consultants, specialist play vendors, local MEP consultants, and the Local Authorities. Supervised the preparation of the tender documents.
Headed the MEP department and streamlined the MEP component of civil operations. Maintained the company's goals regarding future growth, quality, and profitability. Negotiated subcontract agreements and reduced subcontract costs after reviewing the tender packages. Mentored, motivated, and guided a team of MEP coordinators to supervise the execution of MEP works carried out by external subcontractors. Projects included Siemens Headquarters, a LEED Platinum development, a 5-star Hospital, and mixed-use Oil-Field development.
Reviewed the electrical design and provided technical inputs to the external infrastructure design consultants to minimize power consumption by considering sustainable solutions. Succeeded in reducing the number of 132 KV substations from initially proposed 6 stations to 3 substations by introducing District Cooling and Solar Power. Recruited design team to carry out the MEP design for selected components of the project including a sales centre, a mansion, and model villas. Supervised the design of the remaining components awarded to external consultants. Successfully executed the construction of the Sales Centre and an 18-hole golf course.
Designed and documented HV electrical infrastructure for various land subdivision projects.
Designed and documented the electrical, HV, LV, ELV, fire detection, emergency lighting, ICT, CTV, CCTV, and EWIS services for various projects following the relevant Australian Standards. The process began at the conceptual design stage and continued to the detailed design stage.
Started and headed the MEP department in Arabtec Living Division from December 1999 to July 2002. The MEP department operated as a cost center and included different sections of engineering, procurement, and construction. Completed the execution of multiple fast-track projects including 223 community villas in Barsha, and 118 community villas in Springs and Emirates Hills. Achieved substantial cost savings.
Supervised the execution of the MEP works for JW Marriott Expansion. Reviewed the material submissions and shop drawings. Managed the procurement of client-supplied packages such as light fittings and kitchen equipment. The project comprised 122 rooms, 7 themed restaurants with separate kitchen facilities, a central kitchen, and a wedding hall.
Established the MEP division for the Al Bustan Centre project. Executed the MEP project on a fast-track schedule. The development comprised underground parking, a mall, and 640 furnished apartments. Recruited project engineers of different disciplines for design and supervision. Formed a core installation team for the execution of the model apartments. Value engineered the MEP design and reduced the power load by 1.5MW. Procured all equipment. Achieved a substantial amount of savings from the original budget.
During eight years of dedicated service and a gradual increase in responsibilities, I moved from the entry position of site electrical engineer through different roles and positions. I then headed the company's operations as Projects Manager. Annual turnover approx. $6 Million. Projects included: Al Wasl Hospital Cafeteria and Supermarket, New Etisalat Hostel, and Jumeriah Beach Restoration infrastructure.
