Petunia Arabia Factory is a leading company in the field of GRC cladding starting from design, production, and to installation.
Contract Manager
• Responsible for securing the FIDIC Subcontract of SAR 112, 733, 551.00 with the Contractor RCC and the Employer Jabal Omar Project.
• Contribute in placing schedule for manufacturing, providing, and installing alongside with suppliers and providers to insure completion and hand over of the works in accordance to the time line.
• Review contractual performance to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the contracts, identify conflicts variation requiring resolution, and/or Variation Orders.
• Working as information provider to Petunia’s lawyer and Arbitrator in the conflict arose with the Contractor RCC that urged the two parties to refer to the Arbitration in May 2018.
• Playing principal role in the conflict between RCC and Petunia as a helper in preparing the lawyer pleadings, and as a monitor of all the documents submitted to the Arbitration.
• Succeeded together with the defense team to explain clearly to the Arbitration Committee and to the appointed Engineering Expert the fairness of Petunia ask for money seized by RCC. That led to a decision issued by the Arbitration on March 30, 2019 in favor of Petunia.
Projects Manager
Petunia Arabia Factory is a leading company in the field of design, production, and installation of GRC cladding.
• Managing and leading a team of 50 employees to install and finish the cladding for 2 separate projects (Hiltons and Marriot) for the account of the main contractors Nesma and RCC companies.
• Liaising with, and progress updating to the main contractors and then to the Owner Jabal Omar Development Project in the Holy City of Makkah.
-Made business plan, feasibility study, chose the equipment, design the production line, and machines layout.
-Rehabilitation of the place and provided utilities to the machines according to the installed load.
-installed ceramic tiles, false ceiling, brick walls, gypsum board, chimney, and bakery sign.
1985 - 2014 - IDRIS BROS. COMPANY
Owner and CEO
• Established Idris Bros. Co. a family owned trading company for import and distribution of agricultural machines.
• Built relationship with the suppliers on the basis of exclusive rights for Syria.
• Followed after the wholesales of about 30 dealers throughout the Syrian areas.
• Responsible for getting Credit Facilities from the local bank, opening L/C's, following up the shipments, assign inspection companies, and coordinating with the clearing agent at the ports of entry.
• Managed the business in general, encouraged the employees to reach the agreed targets, made plan to promote new products, and maintained sufficient stock of spare parts.
• Increased the sales at a level that exceeded the 30% annually.
2003 - 2007 Idris Tower, Commercial building (Homs)
Partner, Manager, & Senior Engineer
• Negotiated and reached an agreement with the governmental tenant who was occupying the real estate, old building and its facility for 40 years.
• Arranged the demolishing and removal of the existing old building which is located in a crowded place in the city centre of Homs.
• Assigned and advised the Engineers team to achieve a unique design of 12 stories commercial building consisted of 100 units and which considered when completed as a landmark in the city of Homs.
• Managed all the aspects of the construction starting from excavating to turn keys. Project scheduling, quality control, and report preparation.
• Coordinated and controlled the relation with the contractors, and with the suppliers.
• Responsible for everything related to municipal permission, Municipal Act, and Building code.
1980 - 2003 - Badr Industrial Co. (Homs - Syria)
Founder, Partner, and Manager
• Designed and executed the building and the steel structure of a facility to manufacture Electric Water Heaters, and Wheelbarrows.
• Negotiated and then granted the permission from the Ministry of Industry.
• Installed the production line, machine tools, eccentric presses, folding and welding machines.
• Carried, managed, and supervised all the steps of production starting from purchasing raw materials, manufacturing, and ending to packing and storing.
• Directed product development activities.
• Assigned dealers for different areas in Syria and followed after the sales
1979 - 2000 - MAK Interior Design (Aleppo, Syria)
Partner and member of the Board of Director
MAK Interior Design was a leader company in Syria and the first one of its kind to manufacture glass fibre products in the form of furniture, and pre-fabricated homes.
Owned 37.50% of the company shares, I helped in finding and maintaining suppliers for the basic raw materials of chipboard, polyester resin, and glass fibre.
1994 - 1997 - Alef & Randwill International Inc. (Toronto)
General Manager
• Founded and developed a corporation located in Toronto to export tires for motor-cars and for slow speed vehicles.
• Maintained good relations with Firestone (USA), and Treadway Company of Waterloo (Canada) to operate and to finance the exportation of tires into the Syrian market.
1975 - 1977 - 120 Residential Units for phosphate Mines (Homs)
Site Engineer and deputy of the main contractor
Challenged by the dead line of 14 months, it was record to finish a Turn-Key project of 120 residential units in such a short time. Even the project which planned to inhabit the Phosphate Mines employees was located in the heart of the desert.
Duties
• Prepared project scheduling, progress reports, and cost control.
• Assisted with engineering designs and liaise on technical approval.
• Followed up all the aspects of the projects, from foundations works to delivering the project to the Phosphate Company after completion on the basis of turn-key.
