Provide theoretical introduction to the trainees about the publishing industry, our website,
the Manuscript Tracking System (MTS) and the review process to have an overview about
our publishing process.
○ Initiate the on-job-training through coaching trainees on how to check the submitted
manuscripts, assign the approved ones to the appropriate editors, and follow-up on the
editorial workflow at all stages to guarantee a clear understanding of our review process.
○ Submit a training progress report on a regular basis to the Editorial Unit Coordinator to
assess the effectiveness of the training program.
○ Report any unusual cases regarding trainees’ performance to the Publishing Editors and
Editorial Unit Coordinator to take the necessary action.
○ Conduct a probation period evaluation meeting with each trainee to evaluate his/her
performance.
Communicating with authors, editors, and reviewers and responding to inquiries.
○ Performing some checkups on submitted articles (PDF file, manuscript type, duplicate or
plagiarism cases).
○ Managing the timeframe of the editorial workflow at all stages.
○ Assuring that editorial policies are followed by all users.
○ Sending reminders to author, reviewers, and editors following the editorial workflow.
○ Managing the internal process of accepted manuscripts (handling materials provided, galley
proofs sent.
○ Coordinating with other departments (IT, Production, and FMD)
○ Raise-up urgent and not ordinary cases to Publishing Editor
