Working with COMSOL Multiphysics as the Regional Technical Support and Application Engineer for the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa region) through Elnady Engineering and Agencies, the sole distributor of COMSOL Multiphysics in MENA region.
Responsibilities:
- Providing technical support for COMSOL Multiphysics clients in wide areas of science disciplines including computational fluid dynamics and transport phenomena (heat, mass and momentum transfer), chemical reaction engineering, electrochemistry applications (fuel cells and corrosion), structural mechanics and nonlinear structural materials, acoustics and semiconductors.
- Conducting seminars and professional conferences across the MENA region on the use of COMSOL Multiphysics for simulating various research and design problems.
- Providing specialized training, both basic and advanced level, to familiarize our clients with COMSOL Multiphysics (for both small and large groups).
- Preparing all training's curriculum and materials.
- Developing proof-of-concept simulations to demonstrate the capabilities of COMSOL Multiphysics in simulating different multiphysics problems.

My role is to provide onsite services associated with preparation and testing of drilling fluids with full analysis of testing results to provide technical recommendations for optimized drilling fluids parameters, stable well-bore and smooth drilling operations. It involves great deal of independence, self-motivation, leadership, work pressure management, self-learning, inventory planning and keeping stock records, understanding both the technical and business sides of the job, paying attention to details and building long-term relations with customers.
I was able to completely drill a standalone critical well within only 10 months of employment exceeding management expectations, earning an early promotion and excellent feedbacks from our customers.

Main Responsibilities:
- Review mud program in order to prepare orders and mixing plans.
- Preparing procedures for mixing and handling of products.
- Supervising rig personnel performing chemicals additions and recording drilling fluid parameters.
- Performing mud checks as per API RP 13 B-1 and API RP 13 B-2.
- Interpretation of properties change trends and identify any possible contamination or problems.
- Applying required treatments based on mud check interpretation.
- Determining chemical treatments required to optimize drilling parameters.
- Managing product inventory to ensure chemicals availability.
- Recommendation of solids-control processes to ensure economic dilution requirements.
- Offering solutions to drilling problems like: lost circulation, reactive shale and kicks.
- Advising clients on potential treatments or improvements to the fluid system based on data analysis and mud testing.
- Maintaining required environmental discharge and consumption records.
- Monitoring daily drilling operations to reduce or eliminate problems associated with drilling fluids.

I was responsible for assuring all drilling and non-drilling operations, on rig site, are safely executed according to EDC's HSE system. Also responsible for holding daily, weekly and monthly safety meetings to raise rig crew safety awareness and motivation.
I was responsible for providing IT related assistance to Chemical Warfare manager including preparation of technical reports and presentations to be reviewed by the Minister of Defense, maintenance of computers' hardware and software, and all graphic design requirements.
