Litigation Excellence
• Instrumental in refurbishing group policies to minimize exposure and control risks. Provided oversight and advice on key legislative and regulatory developments affecting the business.
• Served as legal think-tank, proffered strategic, practical and high quality legal advice and support on arbitration, operational, policy and corporate initiatives in the group.
• Played a pivotal role in achieving additional 100 Million dollars of successful business deals, through precise advice on legal review of new trade agreements (sales and commercial).
• Broad subject matter and transactional knowledge has resulted in effective problem resolution- successful closed out-of-court settlements, saved court fees and other legal charges amounting to 10 Million dollars
• Represented the group in a broad array of legal matters/disputes, and successfully achieved favorable court verdicts, gaining a total of 20 million dollars disputes.
• Successfully managed arbitration dispute of 1 million dirhams, after initiating a new legal principle of revoking arbitration verdict at the court of appeal.
Corporate Legal Affairs Champion
• Introduced new policy of mutual settlements with staff/labour to avoid any further legal procedures, and to support the organization to successfully implement manpower restructuring plan.
• Supporting management in assessing the risk of entering into contracts, ensuring company is not exposed to uncontrolled legal risk.
• Proffering legal consultation and counseling to the Group companies and its management in any legal matters pertaining to their daily operations.
• Enforcing company-wide Ethics and Compliance Policy with statutory and license obligations.
• Drafting/ reviewing legal correspondence, documents and contracts, providing guidance on deal strategy and structure.
• Strategically managing and supervising the firm’s litigation and arbitration docket to ensure effective representation and optimal litigation results. Preparing cases files and drafting required memoranda/ petitions to be submitted to court or arbitration.
Business Relationship
• Handling all cases, claims and investigations with the governmental authorities.
• Leveraged financial acumen whilst managing legal department budget and disputes costs, attorney’s charges and legal fee.
• Nurturing synergistic business relationships for the legal department among the various internal business groups requiring legal support.
• Served as Company/ Management Ambassador towards the governmental authorities such as courts, police stations, public prosecutions, notary public, chambers of commerce and free zones authorities etc.
