I have progressively experience working in the field of Police, Safety and Security for more than 27 years, this experience is married with highly specialized training in safety and security related issues, identifying problem areas and coming up with solutions.
As a result of many years occupying sensitive posts in the Egyptian Police, I have managed all the levels of the Security related issues through my long experiences servicing in the field within both Egyptian police and the UN Police and Security including the strong negotiation and communication skills. In addition of gaining the experience to work under pressure of tight and conflicting time.
I have been highly educated and still willing to continue learning to meet all my job requirements and responsibilities. I have recently completed my Master studies in Peace and development from El Fashir University in Sudan.
My experiences were improved through the various posts I have assigned with the UN Department of Peace Keeping Operations which provided me with a wealth
of knowledge on UN Security Management System (SMS) and related matters.
I have been working in Security Information and Operation Centre (SIOC) at UNAMID HQ, I have also worked as OIC Operations
Unit in West Darfur security. In addition, I have attended and completed main UNDSS training courses SCP 24 on February
2013 and FSTP on October 2009.
Here are some of the functions that qualified me to achieve the best performance as a UN security officer:
• Prepare and disseminate Security Incident Reports; Flash Security Reports, and Daily Security Reports;
• Maintain situational awareness of the security environment that the UN/AFPs operate in, and provide appropriate situation
updates to UNDSS HQ, SMT, CSA, UN AFPs and staff as required;
• Interact with the Mission Joint Operations Centre (JOC); obtain information from JOC and use it for production of Daily Security Reports, as appropriate; support operations of the Crisis Management Team during emergencies, as required;
• Participate in development of SOPs and UNAMID Security Plan, as well as contingency planning (relocation, evacuation, MEDEVAC/CASEVAC);
• Liaise with the Local Security Authorities, UNAMID substantive sections, UN agencies and INGO/NGO;
• Participate in coordination of VIP visits and cash trips; provide operational orders for such missions;
In addition, I also worked as OIC Guard Force Management Unit at UNAMID/HQ, my duties and responsibilities were as follows.
• Ensure safety and security of UN staff and Assets.
• Developing and implementing together with the GFMU Team under the guidance of DCSA/Support and CSA the Minimum
Operations Security Standards (MOSS) for UNAMID Premises.
• Monitor the implementation of Access Control procedures and Security Mitigating Measures.
• Make sure that UN premises will be accessed by eligible persons only.
• Prevent unauthorized access to UN premises.
• Verifying that all GFMU International Security Officers and National Security Guards are appropriately equipped with required safety and security equipment to facilitate their duties.
• Ensure that movement of UNAMID staff members is undertaken in accordance with rules and procedures and is not conflicting with curfew time.
• Maintain a good rapport with the Local security authorities.
• Liaise with host government security Authorities (NISS-Police-MI) using my language skills as a native Arabic Speaker, exchanging information and meetings with host government police (Diplomatic Police Force) regarding outside protection to UN premises.
I have also worked in my country for more than 22 years as police officer at the Egyptian Ministry of Interior. My last rank before my early retirement to join the UN was Colonel. This long period of working in the police service gave me strong Knowledge of techniques for contacting, recruiting and managing sources, Security management, criminal investigation techniques and procedures.

In addition to the ability to identify priority activities and assignments, adjusts priorities as required, allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work; foresees risks and allow for contingencies when planning; monitors and adjusts plans and actions as necessary; uses time efficiently.
