∘ Technical System Engineer

Greif is an international company with over 100 locations all around the world. Through acquisitions and annexations they grow tremendously over the years. From a standardization perspective Greif chose to let al their employees work on a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure combination with XenApp and XenDesktop, Res Powerfuse. Also been traviling to Greif UK and other locations in Europe for best possible support. I have also been responsible for design deployement and managing the Exchange 2010, Lync 2010 and SharePoint 2010/2013 Enviroment within Greif.
Also worked on implemeting Dynamics NAV 2009 R2.

Also been working on different porjects for Greif see tasks for details.

Tasks:

• Solving OS/Hardware related incidents in Footprints;
• Managing the server park of 749 servers;
• Packaging software with APP-V 4.6 and 5;
• Implementing and managing new projects/products, i.e. Symantec End Point Protection 12.1.2, Dynamics Nav 2009 R2, Citrix Xenapp 6 and RES Powerfuse 2012, Symantec Back-up Exec 7.5, SharePoint 2010/2013. And the trouble shooting and documentation;
• Managing and checking the back-up environments in Tivoli TSM 5 and 6, Symantec Back-up Exec 7.1 and 7.5, including the monthly Disaster recovery tests;
• Creating and managing GPO’s and Group Policy Preferences in Windows 2003, 2008 R2 and 2012;
• Promoting en Demoting Domain controllers;
• Setting up WDS with Windows 7 and ESXi 4 automated deployments (setup of wds to deploy the ESXi 4 hosts as wel the workstations and laptops);
• Managing and troubleshooting the Citrix MetaFrame 4.0/4.5 server farm of 35 Citrix servers;
• Patching servers with Altiris and WSUS;
• Installing new clients and servers through Altiris;
• Monitoring and troubleshooting Windows servers through Solarwinds;

∘ Technical system analyst/Technical system engineer

In brief, I was responsible for the daily management of the server park. In addition, I was
concerned with several projects for which I delivered technical input. Moreover, I
handled the design and implementation. The department I worked for consisted of 60
co-workers who gave support to 3000 servers. Next to that, I was manager to 8 co-
workers of the datacenter. I was responsible for buying hardware and I made sure the
hardware was installed by datacenter personnel. Afterwards, I personally checked if
everything worked properly.
Some of the clients I worked for are Rabobank, Interpolis, Achmea Uvit those are
Banking- and insurance companies in the Netherlands and High school
of Amsterdam.

The high school of Amsterdam hired me from Atos Origin to help out with a XenApp
XenDesktop Project.

For a large area (40, 000 users) a renovated school in Amsterdam created a completely new environment which is based on HP Blades, XenServer, XenApp, XenDesktop. I was temporarily hired to test the SBC/VDI environment until the area can be transferred to a new (to be defined) management/support organization. The proceedings consists of updating, performing and making of the test scripts.

At ICT Solutions I managed 12 servicedesk co-workers. I took care of server park
management which consists of 500 Terminal servers and approximately 2500 Terminal clients, with approximately 40 co-workers.

• Managements of the Windows 2000/2003 Terminal environment. Responsible for dealing with all server related incidents, together with the application engineers;
• Back-ups and restores of central back-up environment (IBM Tivoli Storage Manager);
• Responsible for the DC’s and proxy servers at the offices (Support in case of physical incidents);

• Managing and maintaining the printer servers, and solving printer problems (printers, printer queues, et cetera) within the Windows 2000/2003 environment;

• Support and performance monitoring of the Terminal Servers;
• Giving support to the synchronization between PDA and Lotus Notes in combination with the Windows 2000/2003 Terminal server environment;
• Writing and documenting the management processes in order to address occurred incidents.
