I work as HSE Supervisor at Mellitah Oil and Gas B.V in Libya, at ELFEEL Field. My duties are to follow all the daily routine activities that influenced with H&S issues, for example, kickoff a toolbox meeting with my section employees, held a daily meeting with all contractors and field maintenance team to give recommendation about any task or job that will be carried. Also, I prepare everyday reports and data regarding the H&S activities in the field. Moreover, every working day I am responsible to make sure, that all field fire-fighting systems are in well operational mode such as fire detection systems, suppression systems and fire fighting and rescue tools and equipments. What's more, I usually provide training sessions for all field employees regarding health and safety, and I perform theoretical and practical courses to ensure that field staffs are aware of HSE issues.
Additionally, Elfeel Field is certified with ISO 14001:2004, therefore, my duties is to maintain the Environmental management system (EMS) in place by assuring that waste management system, energy saving and cost reductions are in line with ISO 14001 requirements. Also, with regard to EMS, as HSE Supervisor my I have ensure that field activities do not affect the local environments and to satisfy the stakeholder requirements as ELFEEL Field area is known as antiquated area back to 5000 BC, therefore, I ensure that all field activities have no direct or indirect damage for the said area. Besides, I am responsible to review and develop all field H&S practice at the workplace, to be in-line with field management requirements by using global standards such as the United Kingdom legislations.
What’s more, I am very motivated person, I like to work in group, I always insist that field employees learn about HSE and follow these regulations by their encouragements; HSE is an issue so I try to use all resource to achieve the company policy requirements and to satisfy the stakeholders objectives.
Additionally, I have been delegated as HSE Field Coordinator for many times since 2012, my role is to manage the HSE Section on field, and my direct manager for this position is on our company HQ in Tripoli, so this delegation will give the full authorities to manage all HSE issues on field with arrangement and cooperation with Field Manager.
