• Keep abreast of all applicable laws / regulations and potential changes, analyze the impact on business, highlight any legal and compliance risk, and make recommendations to the leadership.
• Ensure that standard contracts are developed and continuously updated for all aspects of company business operations and are complete, legally compliant and protect from risks.
• Continuously monitor and ensure that all contractual instruments and agreements are in conformity with policies and applicable laws and regulations: flag all issues of non-conformance to the leadership.
• Review and ensure comprehensive drafting of documents for business contracts and transactions
• Participate in contractual negotiations to ensure best business interests.
• Represent company before Judicial Court.
• Review progress of outstanding litigation, liaise with and manage external lawyers to determine desired outcomes.
• Ensure the development and implementation of policies and procedures in line with best practices.
• Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures.
• Provide proactive advice and support to the leadership and other stake-holders to ensure adherence to the Legal, Risk and Compliance framework and policies.
• Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, the appropriate courses of action have been taken.
• Interpret policies and legislation for the decision-making support of the leadership and other stake-holders.
• Ensure continuous internal training on legal and regulatory aspects in order for relevant stake-holders to keep abreast of regulatory issues
