-Developing criteria for drug use evaluations; helping conduct these evaluations and preparing recommendations to the medical staff based on the results of the evaluations using Evaluating Drug literature::
a. Using Drug literature to make clinical decision.
b. Evaluating the body component of primary literature.
c. Evaluating the body of Evaluative studies
d. Evaluating the body of descriptive reports.
e. Evaluating the tertiary literature.
f. Distinguish between primary, secondary, and tertiary and each of their advantages, disadvantages and applications.
g. Distinguish between descriptive, observational, and experimental study designs, and each of their advantages, disadvantages, and applications.
h. Analyze each section of a published report of a study, assessing its appropriateness and interrelations with special emphasis on its relationships to the study objective.
i. Performing drug evaluation between two or more medications (from one class or different classes.
-Responsible for updating pharmacy module to be integrated with new HIS.
- Out patient prescriptions dispensing
- Patient counselling .
1-Responsible as the senior for safe and efficient delivery of assigned pharmacy services in accordance with departmental policies and procedures and the kingdom laws.
2-Dispenses medications according to outpatient physician's prescriptions and inpatient physicians' orders through unit dose system.
3-Reviews and interprets each prescription/order for correctness, potential drug-drug interactions, patient allergies and therapeutic duplication with proper documentation.
4-Medication errors documentation using root cause analysis method for making proper plans for decrease and prevention in the future.
5-Records medications dispensed in computerized patient profile.
6-Supervises pre-packaging and labeling of medications in unit dose quantities for patients.
7-Fills nursing and other unit's requisitions.
8-Answers inquiries regarding drug availability, indications, dosage and compatibility.
9-Responsible for monthly analysis medical interventions report.
10-Admixes large volume parenterals (TPNs) and small volume parenterals (chemotherapy).
11-Compounds extemporaneous physicians' prescriptions by accepted professional standards.
