Challenges and Achievements:
Challenges: Outbreak of COVID-19, Scarce of Foreign Currency Funds, and the reluctance of Chines vendors and service contractors towards working in Sudan- post regime change.



Achievements:
i. I could steer the preparations for Turnaround, which enabled carrying out the TA in Dec.2020 that minimized the delay to for months, despite the difficulties inflected by the COVID-19.
ii. Helped resolve and overcome many problems in the Materials and Services Procurement Process, such as short in staff and business process workflows to streamline and expedite the process.
iii. Carried out a quick stocktaking of spare parts inventories which helped in finding out number of locally available parts required for the upcoming Turnaround, which this have reduced lead-time and budget significantly.
iv. Prepared supplementary guides, templates and explanatory notes to existing Turnaround SOPs.
v. Led a thorough and critical review of work lists to purge out non-critical work scope, which have significantly reduced lead-times and budget.
vi. We prepared and presented comprehensive report on the current problems in KRC and worked with the ministry in implementing some of our recommended solutions.
vii. As, management consultant, I led extensive effort in getting the buy-in of top management to introducing ERP system.
viii. As Deputy ERP Project Manager I prepared the overall project lifecycle roadmap and started the venders sourcing process.
ix. As a member of the restructuring committee, I led an extensive effort to get the buy-in of shareholders, top management and the management consulting firm, to introduce Two new Functions (One Department), of Business Planning and Performance Management Department. My effort resulted in approving the introduction of these new Department in the proposed new structure.

Oversee the production, engineering and maintenance functions in its 32 Million Woven sacks/year factory.

Achievements:
a. The factory since inception was making net business loss. In response I led a comprehensive assessment and review. We found out the reason of loss was due to the drastic change in preset product mix, dictated by the nature of market preferences.
b. Developed cost accounting system and integrated it with financial accounting, planning and reporting system. This cost account system has helped resolving the business loss problem through the change of product mix and pricing scheme, and in setting new financial and business plan.
c. Developed a mini_ERP system with MS Visual Basic, which have integrated production function with purchase, warehouses and sales functions.

a. Recruitment and placing of the operation and project site staff for the new ASU plant.
b. Liaising with Power Supply Company to resolve major supply problems that hindered the commissioning process that caused a delay of two months, because the solution required the change of the Protection Coordination Schemes of Upstream Substations.
c. Succeeded in Completing the Plant Commissioning and putting the plant into production, with in house team, after the plant supplier abstained from completing the commissioning.

b. Led the preparation of FEED study for establishing a retrofit SCADA system for monitoring/controlling 325 Oil Well Sites in HEGLEIG oil fields. This job included; requirements soliciting and functional analysis; system conception and architecting; preliminary system engineering; quantities and cost estimation; and FEED report presentation and discussion (GNPOC/Vision Valley Co. - 2008).
c. Assigned as EI&C and electromechanical reviewer in the design review team of Consultancy Center - Arab Authority for Agricultural and Industrial development - for reviewing the design of $28M Pharmaceutical Plant. My role included the review of the electromechanical design over the three design stages. Then participated in master project planning, setting procurement strategy, drafting contracts and bidding documents (Aug.2008 to Apr.2009).
d. As Site Engineer I supervised the installation, Commissioning and handover of semi-automated Racking System for Central Warehouses of the National Medical Supplies Corp. (Ministry of Health - Gov. of Sudan - 2007).
