Electrical Design Engineer - Design Approval(DEWA)


• Reviewing Consultant / Contractor’s Electrical Design documents submitted for DEWA approval prior to construction / execution and issuing approvals.
• Reviewing the documents submitted by the Consultant / Contractor for the approval of Permanent Supply / Construction Supply / Temporary Supply / Fit-out
• Reviewing the design of Villas, Group of Villas / Warehouses, High rise Residential / Commercial Buildings, Shopping Malls, Multipurpose Halls / Auditoriums, Sports stadiums, Hospitals, Super markets, Street lighting Feeder Pillars for RTA / Private, Animal Sheds etc.
• Reviewing the design documents such as Load Schedule, Single Line Diagram, Setting out plan, Power & Lighting Layout, LV Room / Floor Electrical Room Arrangements, Metering arrangements etc. as per DEWA Regulations.
• Reviewing the Total connected load, Meters, Breaker rating, Cable size, Capacitor bank etc. in the load schedule as per the DEWA Regulations
• Verifying the capacitor bank KVAR calculations, Voltage drop calculations, demand load calculations etc.
• Reviewing of Setting out plan for the proposed location of LV Room / Electrical room / Meter cabinet, Cable routing, DEWA Cable entry to the plot etc.
• Reviewing the small power and lighting layout for the MDB / SMDB / DB location and the final distribution as per DEWA regulations.
• Reviewing all the documents from Consultant/Contractors to comply as per DEWA regulations.

Responsibilities:
 Responsible to gather all necessary information and data for client requirements and
specifications in preparation for conceptual design to final design drawing.
 Preparation of design basis, studies/reports and recommendations.
 Electrical Design for various buildings construction projects (Offices, Residential, Industrial).
 Familiar with local authority regulation and standards related to electrical work (ADDC).
 Preparation of LDN Schematic & Substation Plan Layout and get a approval from ADDC.
 Regular Follow up to the ADDC & Etisalath Engineer’s for LDN Approval.
 Preparation of Telephone & Data Schematic layout and get a NOC from Etisalath(UTT).
 Design of 30/40MVA, 15/20 MVA and LV Power Transformers
 Electrical Equipment sizing calculation for 33kV GIS Switchgear, 11kV Switchgear, 6.6kV
Switchgear & Controlgear, 400V Switchgear & Controlgear, Transformers, Bus Duct, UPS &
DC charger, Solar system, MV & LV Cables.
 Design and Selection of Switchgears, Transformers, Generators Relays, Panel’s, Breakers
(ACB, MCCB, ATS, MCB, ELCB, etc) Cables, Trays etc..
 Preparation of Specifications/Data sheets.
 Preparation of Single Line Diagrams & Metering & Protection diagrams.
 Preparation of All Schematic Layouts (Fire Alarm, CBS, PA&VE, CCTV, MATV, TEL & Data).
 Preparation of Specifications/Data sheets for 11kV, 6.6kV motors & 400V LV motors.
 Preparation of Electrical load list and Cable schedule.
 Preparation of engineering drawings such as power layouts, lighting layouts, earthing layouts,
Fire Alarm, PA&VE Layout, Central Battery System layout, CCTV System layout, Low Current
Layout, MATV Layout, Telephone & Data Layout hazardous Area classification layouts and
cable tray layouts.
 Preparing Electrical Schematic Diagram.
 Preparing Bill of Quantity.
 Preparing Technical Schedule, Equipment Data Sheet.
 Technical Evaluation of Vendor / Suppliers Proposals.
 Technical Evaluation of Vendor's Proposals (Material Submission).
 Review and monitor Contractor’s shop drawings against the design (tender), method
statements.
 Review and monitor Contractor’s Material Submittal’s, Authorities Issues & RFI’s.
 Well Knowledge in Estidama Buildings consulting.
 Coordinates with other disciplines such as interior design, architectural, structural and
mechanical.
