I was tasked with and successfully managed the reorganizing and improving of the overall supply chain function for the consumables and a huge list of machinery spare parts with the responsibilities for the Inventory, Purchasing, Logistics and the Warehouses. This was achieved with a long term vision by eliminating non value adding activities and creating a multi functional workforce through a process mapping and cross training.
Maintaining optimum inventories through meticulous planning, tactical negotiation and a strategic supplier base - leading manufactures and its agents for papers, inks, other consumables and spare parts in Europe and Asia. Responsible for inventory and demand analysis, sending enquiries, analyzing of quotations, negotiations and re-negotiations, order placements, follow ups, logistics and warehouse procedures.
In addition, coordinate for purchasing and logistics of press machinery, IT and other department equipment, furniture, fittings and services, promotional items and activities. Liaise with Finance for budget inputs and timely payments.
14 subordinates and 8 lift-trucks in addition to 6 AGV’s (Automated Guided Vehicles - Robots) assists for a smooth operation.
Peak: Year 2008, over 3000 TEU’s for consumables alone valued over USD 85 millions.
