QDVC is the leader of a joint-venture comprising the local Al Darwish Engineering and the Korean GS Engineering & Contracting, in association with the British Atkins as Lead Designer.Qatar Rail has awarded the southern works package of the Doha metro red line south to the consortium led by QDVC. The contract, with a value of about €1.5 billion, covers design and construction of a dual-tube underground line with a length of 13.8 kilometres Five earth pressure tunnel boring machines with an outside diameter of more than 7 metres will operate simultaneously. The contract also includes the design and construction of six underground stations, Tunnels and Two Switch Box.
NATURE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


 Active involvement in the construction of bored tunnels with EPB TBM of diameter 7m and Tunnel internal diameter 6.7m. (Monitoring for Breakthrough of TBM)
 Monitoring of TBM operating parameters viz, Cutter Head rotation Speed, Torque, Rate of advancement, Articulation, Face pressure against the predicted.
 Close monitoring of Excavated material(Quantity and strata), Primary grout volume every ring, Secondary Grout volume and pressure at every 10 rings.
 Close monitoring of surface settlements and vibrations rates on surface during Tunneling Operation.
 Construction of Tympan wall width 1.20m for station.
 Active involvement in Geotechnical works (drilling and installation of piezometer, Inclinometer, Vibrate wire piezometer and bore holes)
 Utility diversions (Sewer line 1000mmφ, Water line 300mmφ, Electric lines).
 Construction of diaphragm wall for station box and TBM shafts.
 Active involvement in all the structural works inside the station and tunnel.
 Dewatering in charge for the whole station.
 Active involvement in water proofing works at raft slab and roof slab, & different kinds of grouting works used to stop the ingress of water inside the tunnel and station.
 Project forecasting and reporting to Station Manager.
 Occupational health and safety policy implementation.
 Managing man power, time and cost at the Site level.
