Leads and ensures execution of MEP works, within budget and in accordance with the specifications and regulatory requirements.
Reviews and comments on tender documents (from an MEP perspective) including scope of work, bill of quantities, queries, etc.
Reviews and evaluates the MEP design including drawings and technical specifications.
Review and provide inputs on value engineering exercises and in selecting proper constructability methods based on design and functionality.
Ensures that competent MEP staff are selected, recruited and appropriate assigned.
In coordination with the Project Manager, provides timely technical information and documentation to enable Procurement department to call for bids for any MEP-related works.
Provides delivery dates/ subcontract award dates to ensure these are finalized in accordance with the planned project construction program schedule as applicable.
Evaluates MEP Contractors before its selection by the Commercial Department for MEP scope award
Reviews package contractors’ technical submittals and test reports in coordination with the Project Management team and Consultant, and issue comments for compliance.
Monitors, manages and coordinates all MEP subcontractors and suppliers to ensure all planned dates are met and the works are executed as contracted.
Reviews with the Project Management and the MEP Coordinator/Engineer the detailed programs to ensure practical execution of the project.
Ensures execution of works according to approved procedures and method statements.
Ensures that the quality of materials and the installation of works are in accordance with the project specifications.
Ensures that all nonconformity reports (NCRs) relating to MEP works are successfully closed out.
Monitors site inspection plans and approval process.
Monitor the installation, testing and commissioning of the MEP systems in coordination with the project team.
Ensures that all MEP systems are fully commissioned and accepted by Consultant and Employer.
Ensures timely preparation and submittal of ‘as built’ drawings, guarantees, operation and maintenance manuals (O & M) and all certificates as required for the completion of the MEP works.
Advises Project Manager & Commercial team of technical issues needed for variations, disputes, workmanship, work quality... etc. Coordinates with all relevant departments (i.e. Estimation, Planning, Contract, Commercial as and when necessary.
Keeping a track of schedules for all MEP Materials, Shop Drawings and Method Statements.
Securing approval for all MEP Shop Drawings, Method Statement, and Material Approval Certificate (MAC) depending on the Master Construction Program (MCP).
Submitting RFI for MEP works. Allocating tasks to QC inspector, Draftsman and Document Controller; maintaining regular follow up to ensure compliance with quality & time parameters.
Coordinating inspection and approval of MEP works. Following a defined project methodology and sequencing the MEP activities.
Reviewing actual progress vis-à-vis schedule latest approved MEP Programmer (to be generated by MEP subcontractors-in line with the main contractor’s program). Ensuring all tasks are completed as per timelines.
Reviewing subcontractors’ performance to ascertain they execute project activities as per SOW. Issuing letters when any deviation from plan/ quality standards is noticed.
Assist in component sourcing and vendor management
Prepare and present technical status reviews
Prepare discipline dossier and system completion manual.
Review discipline dossier and manuals for completeness prior for submission to the clients.
Coordinates with the responsible area engineer for the closure of punch list(s).
Review documents, checklist, vendor procedures & data sheets drawings prior to project execution.
Preparation of mechanical completion package for submission to client after job completion.
Preparation and submission of Commissioning manuals for the commissioning of the system.
Preparation and submission Operation and Maintenance Manual.
Commissioning of HVAC & Plumbing system.
