Key Projects to Credit
• Measurement and standardization of the Paediatric Index of Mortality at Paediatric ICU: The PIM II Score assists clinicians to draw inferences concerning patient care, service, and outcome, wherein the data is collated by PICU Physicians.
• Adaptation of the Adult Mechanical Ventilation Checklist into Paediatric Mechanical Ventilation Checklist: The BWAP Checklist used by predictors, works as a tool for predicting the probability of successful weaning from mechanical ventilators, specifically for adult patients. The project aimed at customizing the checklist for use in the Paediatric ICU for child patients.
• Delirium Assessment of Children to the PICU: Delirium is a sign of severity of condition in patients admitted to ICU and General Floors, particularly patients who require mechanical ventilation. It is under assessed due to lack of education about it being a syndrome, and required a targeted approach to analyze and validate assessment scores for children in the PICU.

Highlights
• Ensured that the PIM II Score provides an accurate picture of both, survivals as well as deaths, eventually making it more sensitive and specific to internal processes and operations.
• Developed and implemented the Paediatric Mechanical Ventilation Checklist, end product tool, which was validated for the care of PICU’s patients.
• Instrumental role in the implementation of multiple clinical and quality improvement projects within the scope of the defined clinical area.

• Developing a logistic model in collaboration with PICU Consultants, to enable prediction of death while negating the risk factors that hampered real outcomes.
• Analyzing and formulating ways to adapt the BWAP Checklist using multi-disciplinary approaches and robust statistical tools like PCA and regression analysis.
• Handling various functions for several care and service quality improvement projects, and executing implementations on available and well-made research papers.
• Conducting root cause analysis and identifying reasons for inaccuracy in the existing methodologies employed for various clinical purposes.
