Key Result Areas:
• Ensuring the stability and integrity of wireless mesh networks for the Abu Dhabi government client. Managing, supporting and deploying Wireless network backbone for Smart Grid Connectivity of Abu Dhabi government with skills of Layer 1 & Layer 2 Networking protocols and hands-on experiences. Providing daily level 1 & 2 support for over 8, 000 nodes of gateway and node ABB tropos routers spread across Abu dhabi, Al Ain and Eastern region.
• Examining problems, troubleshooting & conducting incident response on the system; communicating with site engineers & tracking problems through to resolution, updating to ABB management & end-client
• Monitoring system performance & network capacity using NMS software; monitoring hardware, software alerts or malfunctions; identifying issue, determining cause of problem & ticketing incident based on SLA criteria; starting resolution via technical crew
• Troubleshooting problems, when it impacts applications, if possible; closely following operating procedures of NOCs; liaised with third-party vendors, customer contacts, or other IT teams
• Reporting incidents when problems are too large or complex for quick troubleshooting; escalating the issue to management, other IT resources or 3rd party vendors for resolving; maintaining ongoing communication within team & externally, to keep all stakeholders aware of relevant, known issues and the steps being taken; escalating to L3 & following-up
• Steering network upgrade; upgrading current NMS systems; planning & upgrading latest firmware release as available for end nodes & NMS system
• Traffic (Provision, Cessations, Re-routing).
• Provide onsite physical field support for day-to-day O & M activities 24/7 on rotational basis and as per management instructions
• Coordinate with concern teams e.g. NOCs, Core Networks Operation teams for trouble shooting reported faults
• Attends Network failures due to equipment/ FO Cable outages and as per requirements etc.
• knowledge of testers/Analyzers used for core network testing 2/34/45Mb & STM1, 4, 16, and Ethernet testing 10MB-10G ITU & industry standard tests & OSA use and hands on working experience
• Aware of OTDR testing for FO cable faults and hands on working experience.
• Knowledge of SDH, DWDM and CDWM concepts and hands on working experience.
• Knowledge of digital cross connects M/S Alcatel & Huawei and hands on working experience
• Knowledge of M/S Ericsson & Huawei Mobile/ NGN networks and hands on working experience.
• Knowledge of OLT networks M/S Alcatel & Huawei and hands on working experience.
Job Description -
1. To ensure maximum possible service availability and performance of all SDH Networks
2. To provision customer network services on core equipment
3. To provide support services for Engineering and other technical teams. 4. To do inspection on sites for Audit Quality standard check.
• Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate with the three Maintenance teams deployed in a three different regions (Central-AUH-AAN-Island, Western, Northern-DXB-SRJ-FUJ-RAK) for Preventive & corrective Maintenance.
• Fault handling and escalation (identifying and responding to faults on OMS systems and networks, escalated by customer or signal corp/army, handling escalation through to resolution).
• Provisioning in OMS (IP assignment, core network configuration, DNS setup, monitoring and graphing for co location, leased lines, customer backup and other customer network services)
• Maintenance of project reports and technical documentation (for NOC/NMC) of processes and procedures used throughout normal operations.
• Development of knowledge and skills in network and system administration, particularly with regard to UAE Armed force own architecture and platforms
• Tier 3 Support for co-location, customer backup network and ISP services.
• Participate in a 24x7 call-out rota if required.
• Preventive maintenance based on schedule agreed with the customer (UAE Armed forces).
• Managing the teamwork during the project implementation & supervising the Installation of Optical Network Equipment.
• Testing, Commissioning, conducting PAT of optical Transmission equipments.
• Traffic cutover / change over to new equipment
• Collect equipment / spares from the warehouse, deliver and install in the sites, and recover dismantled / faulty equipment from site and deliver to warehouse.
• Trouble shoot / trace out faults and bring the equipment back to normal operation to ensure the Hardware and software Quality of the new deployment.
• Software up gradation of equipment on live network
• 10G/10GE Lambda addition and testing on DWDM & OTN networks.
• Coordination with the vendor and team members to achieve the targets and timely project accomplishment.
Work in 8 hrs rotating shift pattern reporting to the TNOC Lead Engineer
* Perform first level Fault diagnosis
* Analyze and resolve System issues within the specified SLA’s
* Perform SDH provisioning via NMS and coordinate testing with Technicians as per methods and procedures
* Analyze performance reports and troubleshoot to fix the problem
* Provide expert guidance to MC stations staff when required
* 24x7 Surveillance of centralized alarm management system of STC and issue of necessary call out to Detasad staff for attending the fault for Huawei U2000.
* Manage escalations and trouble ticketing process
* Coordinate preventive maintenance activities with SDH Technicians
* Prepare daily TNOC Huawei U2000 reports
* Provide 24x7 Customer call handling service
Provisioning of links (E1, VC3, STM1, STM4 & STM16) using multi-vendor optical multiplexers like Nortel (TN-1C, TN-1X, TN-4XE, TN16XE, DX & HDX), Marconi (OMS-1684, OMS-1664, OMS-1626, OMS 1634), TELLABS FIBCOM.
Provisioning of links to ensure End to End connectivity for the Network and Enterprise Customer Links.
Provisioning of required bandwidth for the specific service along protected routes so as to maintain maximum up-time with suitable redundancy.
Analysis of links for physical as well as logical constraints.
Monitoring of the Links & Coordinating with the circle/field team to provide technical support for Network Maintenance and thus insuring better service to the Customers.
Fault Management of existing links. End to end alarm monitoring for existing links.
Troubleshooting of critical traffic outage related problems.
Escalation of hardware related issues with Vendors.
Coordinating with other service providers like BSNL, TTML, for POI link troubleshooting.
To provide Protection/Resiliency to existing links in plan event/maintenance window.
Fault Analysis and diversifying routing of Customer circuits.
Traffic analysis for the STM-1, STM-4, STM-16, STM-64 rings
Meeting Enterprise Customer requirements by providing them optimum designs for Transmission connectivity within SLA.
