Field Logistics Assistant tasks:
Support the Field Logistics Coordinator and program teams in the camp for timely procurement of goods and services for the Mercy Corps’ operations in the camp. Ensure proper maintenance of Mercy Corps facilities in the camp. Assure that facilities maintenance needs are reported in writing, listed and updated on bi-weekly basis . Supervise the maintenance works assigned to camp volunteers, maintenance personnel or service contractors. Ensure adequate supply of fuel to Mercy Corps vehicles, generators, equipment and facilities. Manage and control fuel stocks and supplies. Maintain inventories of equipment, furniture and program items in Mercy Corps warehouses and locations in the camp. Support the Field Logistics Coordinator and Camp Coordinator for process of entry permits for goods, staff and service personnel in timely manner. Cooperate with program staff for the safety and security of Mercy Corps operations in the camp, and report any safety and security concerns to the camp coordinator, program manager and/or operations director. Undertake field assignments as assigned. Adherence to all MC policies and procedures as outlined in MC policies and procedure manuals. Other duties related to logistics and program or operations support as assigned.
Driver tasks:
Operate MC vehicles as assigned by supervisor. Maintain vehicle log-sheets in accordance with MC policies/regulations. Check the vehicle conditions after each trip/routinely - report needs and problems to transport management. Adhere to all safety and communication protocols as advised by Mercy Corps and supervisor. Responsible for the safekeeping of all vehicle equipment, tools, first aid kits, spares etc. Keep the vehicle ready, clean and on standby - ready for use at all times. Assist, as required, with logistics in the office daily workloads. Cooperate and be of assistance to staff and visitors - assist in troubleshooting potential problems during daily business. Report all maintenance needs of the vehicles to the fleet officer on a regular basis. Ensure all vehicles used for camp and within the camps are maintained in good condition. Coordinate with program team the daily transport schedule for programs, operations, management, visitors, events, etc. Conduct driving test to program staff as appropriate when requested by the program manager/ operations director.
Drive ICRC vehicles (cars and trucks ) inside Rewashed in the desert, from Rewashed to Rukban and Hadalat (Jordan Syria borders) and vice versa. Ensure that the vehicles in good condition, clean, has fuel, oil, water and safe for the passengers. Act as a Team Leader in case of car convoy.
