Working within team environment managing business strategy to extremely high standards for the senior managers, extending experience in Unix - Solaris & Linux System Administration, systems security and email filtering as well as overlooking the build of servers, managing the Jumpstart scripts, using remote networking properties, RDBMS basic db administration, delegating installation of other specific software & downloading modules from the web, specifically installing Perl and Perl modules as well as managing NIS maps and other dependency-based modules. At NTL / Telewest it has been the task to engage in projects which require an understanding of PL/SQL scripts for Oracle 9i / 10g platforms. The data for the networks is polled daily and then transferred into various Oracle Tables, stopping and starting DB, troubleshooting through Sybase & Mysql. Perl/CGI scripting: One of the main projects throughout the contract has been to develop perl/cgi scripts and re-engineer existing scripts in order to present the data in a meaningful manner in the form of web-based tools for internal usage upon the intranet. The data is stored in Oracle, Mysql, Sybase databases. System analysis Documentation, both Word-based and using a wiki: Revision control (subversion) - on Solaris: Revision control of a specific form utilised for the NIS maps. Understanding of hfc networks: HFC architecture is currently a key mechanism in the formulation of healthy networks for NTL / Telewest for providing media based services. This allows a greater understanding of a large percentage of the customers. Using customer devices to monitor network performance: Key indicators utilised.
