Dr. Mohammad Shahnawaz Khan is a Research Fellow at the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore. He has done his MS and Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Aligarh Muslim University, India. During his Ph.D., he explored metal-organic materials for functional applications. He enjoyed designing new inorganic-organic hybrid materials and exploring them in wastewater treatment. He has several research papers in designing and exploring metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), coordination polymers (CPs), and coordination clusters for functional applications such as Adsorption, Photodegradation, Magnetism, Sensing, and Biological activity. Expert in fabricating electrode material for energy storage devices. Using various carbon-based materials derived from several low-dimensional nanomaterials and exploiting them in fabricating electrode material for water desalination. Their research group involves removing lithium ion from seawater and using it in the battery system as Li-ion batteries for energy storage.
Performing reactions in the laboratory. Doing various inorganic reaction in the laboratory and characterized unknown molecules using various spectroscopic technique such as FTIR, UV-Visible, TGA, CV, EPR and Single crystal analysis.
Thesis Topic - Synthesis and spectral characterization of metal chelates of N and O donor ligands.
