Working as a co-ordinator in the Management Information and Academic HR Unit at King Saud University Prep Year, I was tasked with the following duties: managing a team of 4 developers, data analyses, system design, testing and deployment. I was also tasked with carrying out the following HR duties as part of my role: Recruitment, screening, appraisals, creating & updating policy documents, generating accurate reports and carrying out disciplinary meetings among other HR duties. I was directly reporting to, liaising with and supporting the HR Manager.
As well as this, I was also developing and delivering training & workshops to teachers and management staff. I was directly liaising with all units & departments to understand their needs and to design and develop suitable systems. Being part of the management team for the Prep Year English language program, I was directly involved in influencing policies, processes and procedures.
My job role also involved me managing 20 teachers. I conducted the weekly line management meetings, provided support and also conducted the performance appraisal meetings at the end of each semester for these teachers.
Designed and developed IT infrastructure for Mercy Mission World HQ in Malaysia. The focus has been to establish best practise in the development of the IT infrastructure for the World Wide HQ of this $5m NGO. Also created media strategy for various projects, managed scheduling, recordings, production of shows & series, TV strategy, media for global conferences and purchase of equipment.
Carrying out all system admin jobs, including: installation, support and maintenance of a network consisting of over 200 PCs, 30 Servers (25 physical), 20 Switches, over 200 telephone handsets, 50 printers, tele/video conferencing equipment, audio & video, security and other IT equipment. I also provided troubleshooting and support for problems the Technical Support team could not resolve. Apart from this, I was the main contact point for external companies we dealt with, including: BT, Dell, Microsoft, McAfee, HP, Eircom, Polycom and our other IT support contractors.
I was also the project manager for the re-design and re-development of the company website. My role was not limited to just technical side of things, I was also involved in organising aspects of major events and ceremonies as well as managing a team on these days. Throughout my time I had daily face to face dealings and provided support to employees as well as students attending the bureau.

Part of a final year module at university, involved working with sixth form students at a secondary school to successfully complete a project with the aim of understanding and learning about teaching, lesson planning, problem solving, behaviour management and other activities related to education and teaching.
During my final year at University, I was selected to be the lab assistant for this module. Duties included: setting tasks, demonstrations and guiding students through their project and activities
This was a job at a Technology College and I was assigned multiple roles, including: Technical Support, Exams Technician, Invigilating in exams and ICT lesson support. I thoroughly enjoyed working there and learnt a lot from my time there. I especially enjoyed ICT lesson support as this gave me a small taste of teaching, a field I would like to step in to.
I rejoined the college after the summer holidays in October 2006 until January 2007.
