Major Projects
College of North Atlantic
Implemented the Campus area network which spans across 22 Buildings in a single geographical area. This campus is one of the largest in Qatar. The campus deals with a huge LAN with 5000 users and a complete converged network with Nortel IP-telephony system. From a network design perspective it is a typical three tier architecture with L3 extending from the distribution to the Core and L2 at the access layer. FWSM modules are utilized for the server farm segment, the network also comprises of the IPS sensor amongst other security components. This network utilizes multi-area OSPF.

Qatar Foundation WI-Fi Setup
Executed the enterprise wide wireless network solution (consisting of around 450 AP's) on top of the existing wired network for QF. The solution was implemented utilizing Cisco's Structured Wireless Aware Network (SWAN) strategy consisting of components like WLSM modules, WLSE, 1232AG AP's, etc. Wireless security is taken into consideration using the PEAP as the authentication protocol utilizing the ACS appliances as the authentication server

Network Engineer at Doha Asian Games
  • Qatar - Doha
  • January 2006 to December 2006

Doha Asian Games (2006) Wi-Fi
Designed and deployed the wireless solution for all the Venues for the 2006 Doha Asian games. The setup was a typical hotspot design (with a billing system) spanning across 40 venues with the backbone terminating at two centralized locations. This setup was deployed using Cisco unified wireless approach comprising of the components like WiSM modules, WCS, Location Appliances and 1242AG LWAP AP's. The billing part was done using Cisco's Service Selection Gateway (SSG) solution.

QF Housing community implementation
A medium scale Metro Ethernet network based execution for around 700 Villas/apartments was done at QF. Layer 2 security mechanisms like DHCP snooping, IP ARP inspection, Port Based ACL etc is utilized to overcome security issues. The IGP used is single area OSPF and BGP is used to peer with redundant link from Q-Tel (ISP) . Rate limiting/restricting client traffic is done using Cisco SCE.

Qatar Foundation datacenter project
Implemented the QF datacenter network, which is meant to provide network based services to a number of tenants of QF. Very unique network as it has different customer's networks completely segregated from one another using VRF-Lite. Apart from this, the infrastructure has been implemented and deployed using

Advanced security products like Cisco IPS, FWSM (in multi-context mode), ACE modules amongst others. The ACS appliances are used for centralized authentication of network devices and users.

Small and Medium Business Projects:
These projects usually consist of networks with 1000-5000 users. Have successfully implemented and providing support for organizations like Al-Sharq hotel & resort, ICT, Wireless Mesh Implementation for I-Park etc. Apart from this I have been also heavily involved in customer network migrations and up gradations, some of the customers included organizations like, Weill Cornell Medical College- Qatar (WCMC-Q), Qatar Foundation, Virginia Commonwealth University-Qatar (VCUQ), Carnegie Mellon University of Qatar (CMU-Q).
