● Review the construction schedule during the progress of site works and review Contractor’s installation method statements.
● Review all mechanical shop drawings in conjunction with the structural and electrical engineers to ensure engineering co-ordination and advise project manager accordingly.
● Review the project specifications and design drawings for the value engineering and project cost saving with best qualities.
● Review the mechanical technical submittals as per specifications and design point of view.
● Attending to the Inspection Requests submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action as per approved shop drawings and site conditions.
● Report to construction manager any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with approved drawing and specifications for appropriate action and release site instruction to the contractor as per the conditions with photos.
● Monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring the same complies with contracts specifications, safety and health risk assessment and environmental mitigating measures respectively on a daily basis.
● Maintain records for daily activities on site including progress photos, quantities installed on site, Incoming & outgoing materials on site, tools & equipments used on site as per the specifications and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
● Monitors submittals to local authorities and ensure that they are carried out in a timely manner in accordance with the contract document.
● Attends regular meetings with the Construction team, and the Client to report on progress and help resolve issues where they arise.
● Gives clear, concise and understandable instructions to staff to avoid confusion, re-work and errors. Follows up with staff to ensure compliance with requirements.
● Managing overall project with a view to ensure timely accomplishment of the targets within the time and cost parameters.
● Being the responsible Mechanical Engineer and reporting to the PM.
