Recently completed PGD in Nutraceuticals and Food Processing(sponsored by Department of Biotechnology(Government of India)IT, CS and Karnataka Govt)Under the auspicious Karnataka Administrative Services.Iam one of the top 20 students throughout India selected for this course through National entrance.Its internship for 6 months was done at Food regulations, safety and hygiene at Nellara Group of Companies, Dubai
I was a student here
I direct running a Poultry farm, Poultry Supplements and equipment showroom and Acres of Banana Plantations.My work responsibilities include company's finance, development, production and supply of goods.I administrate finding new ventures into farming
Handling Theory classes and practical sessions for B.Tech and MSc students.I also assist Professors in Theory Classes and was actively involved in exam invigilations.I also guided students to complete their projects.four of my students presented our project at Oxford university and at Naples.
I joined as a doctoral student in Aug 2007 and was not officially in Job. During this time, I was involved in research activities of Biochemistry and microbiology.I was a member of many international biotech and algal associations and had participated/presented poster at Germany and Japan.
Lecturer (Sep’04 to July, 2007) with Post Graduate Department of Biotechnology, The New College(Affiliated to University of Madras), Chennai, India
Successfully handled the Technical and Post Graduate Students for the subjects including Introductory Biotechnology, Microbial Bioprocess Technology, Molecular Genetics, Transgenesis, Genetic Transformation, Recombinant DNA Technology, Agriculture Biotechnology & Cloning Vectors.
Distinction in taking theory classes and handling practical’s at Post Graduate Level.
Overseeing students for their Postgraduate Projects & Thesis Writing and also the Examination Invigilation.
Played a key role in maintaining Glass Stock and Chemical Registry.
New methods of Teaching implemented during this period are as follows:
o Handle Post Graduate Biotechnology Students make sure that the class proceedings should be of high quality; took classes using Overhead Projector and occasionally using Liquid Crystal Display (LCD Projector); taught students to use Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation.
o Motivating students to proceed with Individual Seminars and any Research Papers related to the subject.
o Give Career Guidance (to apply for summer research and PhD abroad and in India);
o Bestowed with the responsibility of setting Syllabus and Question Paper valuation for Post Graduates.
o Encourage students to attend Seminars.
o Taken First year MSc students for educational trips to Hyderabad (Centre for Cell and molecular Biology and at Indian Institute for Chemical Technology) during Sep’05.
o Our department promoted workshop on Biotechnology during 2006 for senior secondary students.
Major Cultural Programs, Competitions organised:
o Department in association with Dr. John Tharakan (A Fulbright Scholar from Howard University, U.S) is organised a Symposium on “Biological Methods of Waste Treatment and Management in South India” on Thursday, 15th Feb’07. The Symposium program is full and contains over thirty papers, including sixteen (16) oral platform presentations and twelve (12) poster presentations.
o Department promoted workshop on Biotechnology during April 2006 for Senior Secondary students. The main aim was to create awareness about Biotechnology. We organised and was actively involved in this workshop.
Here I was involved in handling Practicals and theory classes for B.Tech Biotechnology Students.This institute was upgraded to University Recently.I handled animal cell, plant and environmental biotechnology besides handling genetics.We were a nice group and had good results as a team.
I worked as a project trainee under Dr.C.Rose.During this time, I got accustomed with many biochemical techniques and assays.Scientific communication and knowledge in the subject developed basically here.Happened to meet a lot of scientists during this time
Here I was taught in Nutraceuticals,Food Processing Analytical techniques in food Processing Industry and Nutraceutical Industry Safety Regulations, Control and Entrepreneurship (IPR, HACCP, ISO 22000).I did my internship in Food regulations at Nellara Group of companies,Dubai
Microbiology was my passion and received first class with distinction
