Field Support Engineer - Mechanical Rotating at Jacobs DCSA

- Providing continuous support to install and pre-commission various rotating equipment and mechanical packages.

-Responsible for handling more than 1 thousand different mechanical equipment and resolving any issues they encounter during the construction and pre-startup phase which includes resolving rotating equipment issues such as misalignment, high coupling run-out, seized parts, bearing oil leakage, rubbing noise, faulty mechanical seals and high vibration issues during the motor solo run as well as miscellaneous issues with static equipment.

- Acting as a technical consultant, when required, by coordinating and resolving problems with personnel throughout Jacobs, the client and organizations outside of the company.

-Acting as a Vendor Rep Site Manager which includes handling all vendor supports for constructions and pre-com phases for rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps, multi-stage compressors, agitators and cooling towers as well as for static equipment such as towers, tower internals, heat exchangers in addition to Brine handling systems.

- Reviewing vendors’ documentations such as GA drawings, IOMs, pre-commissioning and start-up check lists to identify Scope of Works and whether vendors will be required and making sure the vendor support works are carried out in a timely and appropriate fashion.

-Conducting walk downs collectively with the client/contractor to punch any outstanding works needed to be completed before the handover to the client.

-Providing mechanical engineering support to the project team including; construction, pre-commissioning, QA/QC, materials and logistics departments.

-Helping route and answer Site Technical Queries (STQs) for Rotating Equipment, Static Equipment as well as Piping.

-Issuing Site Instructions to the Construction Contractor for any work which is not in their scope such as on site repair, design modifications after being in agreement with the client and equipment manufacturer.

-Assuring that all work is done in accordance with project procedural and contractual requirements.
