USAID project: Iraq Governance & Performance Accountability (IGPA) TAKAMUL

Responsibilities
working with (MOCHMPW & its state companies), Water General Directorate & provincial Water Directorates (Baghdad, Anbar, Wasit, Najaf & Sulaymaniyah) to improve & enhance service delivery to citizen across country through:

Build & maintain relationships with GOI at national & local level.
Support MOCHMPW & Water Directorates to overcome national budget reduction.
Advise water directorates in Optimizing projects’ budget allocation effectively.
Assess current situation of non-revenue water & design proper operations & maintenance procedures.
Propose implementation plan & Conduct introductory meetings with Water Directorates.
Develop consultancy implementation plan & conduct introductory meetings with (MOCHMPW).
Conduct PMP® & NRW trainings in accordance to USAID-IGPA procedures.
Assist MOCHMPW & Water Directorates to perform Water Balance Systems & improve production.
Build capacity on Project Management Professional & None Revenue Water (NRW).
Build capacity of the change agent to ensure the sustainability beyond the IGPA project life cycle.
Train staff to develop: scope of work, Bill of Quantity (BOQ), cost estimating, project evaluation & selection techniques, methodologies, feasibility study, & how to perform cost benefit analysis.

Achievements
Transforming Stored Assets into Cost Savings: A $14.7 Million Success Story
Challenge: Rising project costs threatened service delivery & strained budgets for MOCHMPW, as new pipes were needed for water infrastructure projects.
Solution: I leveraged my expertise to propose utilizing existing stored pipes instead of purchasing new ones. This required project adaptation, but the potential savings were undeniable.
Improved water access for more than one million citizens: Successfully assisted in implementing & operating Kirkuk Unified Water Project & Old Al-Wafaa Project.
Secured $7 million in annual funding for Anbar Water Directorate by identifying and advocating for alternative project materials: UPVC pipes instead of ductile pipes. This innovative approach not only reduced project costs but also shortened completion times.
Utilized Zoom for inclusive dialogue sessions, online platforms for engaging surveys, polls, & data analysis.
Built capacity of change agents & ensure sustainability of IGPA-USAID funded project.
Persuade MOCHMPW to contribute in costs of some IGPA project activities.
Support General Water directorate to initiate Flow Meter Project & perform a water balance system.
Assist solving the problem of raw water in Khorasan River for water projects in Diyala Governorate.
Built Wasit province capacity in project management, cost estimation and feasibility studies.
Assist General Directorate of Water in developing the feasibility study of New Al-Wafaa Water Project.
Developing Bases of Estimate Document for MOCHMPW to be used in estimating realistic project costs.
Assist MOCHMPW in solving problem of ground tanks in project of redistribute water supply between tanks at city of Kirkuk.
Successfully advocated for and implemented adoption of leak detection devices & flowmeters within Gov of Iraq's water delivery infrastructure,  based on my extensive research & recommendations.
