Reconfigurable Generation of Piecewise Affine Functions(Mtech Thesis)

Piecewise Affine Functions are the functions that are affine over the limited regions or parts of the domains and are defined on n-dimensional compact domains that are partitioned into polytopes. The methodology used to generate Piecewise Affine Functions is based on binary search tree. Piecewise Affine Functions can be generated or implemented by using Digital Architectures on FPGA or ASIC. Affine functions and the VHDL files to implement the circuit architecture are automatically obtained from the mobydic toolbox which can be installed in the MATLAB. Control of double integrator is considered through piecewise affine function.

Switched Capacitor DC-DC Converter
This project presents modified Dickson capacitive DC-DC converter to achieve the conversion ratios of 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1, 5:3. The Dickson converter is a regular structure. In this design, a four stage folding Dickson converter is implemented to achieve the above voltage conversion ratios by providing various combinations of switching conditions.

Design of modulo Adder

In this project modulo Adder was implemented using Kogge stone structure. Programming was carried out in 2 separate verilog files. It was carried out using structural modeling in stage by stage process viz to carry out sum bits, carry bits and propagate bits and the intermediate sum bits.

Design of Bandwidth-Oriented Motion Estimation for Video Applications

The main moto is to develop MOTION-COMPENSATED temporally predictive coding with motion estimation (ME) for removing temporal redundancy among adjacent frames in modern video encoder designs which demands high computational complexity and memory bandwidth. These design problems are greater for resource-limited mobile devices, which require fine tuning of video coding algorithms to better utilize the available resources. Coding was done in Verilog. Synthesis was done by synopsys dc compiler.

MEMS based control system and wireless communication using wireless technology
The concept behind this project is to develop a hand movement based wheel chair that can be easily controlled by the disabled persons. This application includes MEMS which is held by disabled persons and depending on the movement made by them, movement of the wheel chair is controlled and by pressing key fitted on wheel chair basic needs are sounded out. This module will obtain signals from MEMS which directs movement of the hand.
Automatic Plant Irrigation

The basic function of this automatic irrigation system is to sense the moisture content present in soil. Depending on the response of sensor part, output will be decided. Green LED indicates wetness and dryness is indicated by red LED. Depending on the voltage reference maintained water is provided only if dryness is indicated through the action of Solenoid valve
