Having submitted my dissertation I secured a place at Olayan Kimberly-Clark as an Accountant. My responsibilities as an Accountant include but are not limited to: • Receiving and managing sales in both cash and cheques
• Preparing deposit slips and depositing collection for the day
• Organizing and posting invoices into MFG PRO
• Successfully carrying out month-end closing
• Managing and maintaining petty cash
• Detailing expense claims and balancing petty cash in excel
• Carrying out bank reconciliation, posting and balancing
• Reviewing damaged/expired goods brought in by salesmen, preparing the relevant documents and posting them into MFG PRO and the online General Ledger.
• Reviewing and reporting customer credit history for orders placed and releasing them after they
have been approved
• Maintaining up to date sales records and providing sales team with performance reports such as aging by salesman and collection by salesman
This job role has given me the opportunity to truly experience the essence of accounting and has allowed me to connect the dots between my theoretical knowledge of accounting and the real life application of it.
Skills
• 5 months of extensive experience using MFG/PRO to input payment entries, customer credit
details, releasing orders, extracting information pertaining to sales collection, statement of accounts by salesman, aging reports by salesman and customer credit history.
• Received training in SAP (Accounts Receivables and Credit Control) during my time with
Kimberly-Clark.
• Good grasp and 2 years of experience with Microsoft Excel. Skills include the use of formulas,
arranging and filtering data using Pivot tables and Vlookup and using graphical representation to examine data.
• Highly competent in terms of computer operation and learning.
• Knowledge of accounting standards include an understanding of the applications of IFRSs
• Very strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability of Team work and Leadership.
• Analytical.
• Numeric.
• Very quick learner.
