The Project: Mataf Expansion, 3rd Expansion for the Grand Mosque of Makkah.
Responsibilities:
General:
•Review Time Schedule, Monitor the Site Activities & forecast the potential problems which may cause delays to project milestones and Prepare Reports.
•Review Procurement Schedule of major mechanical materials required for the project.
•Oversee the Implementation of quality assurance & control program with respect to mechanical construction works.
•Project Management: Preparing Non Conformance Reports and Conflict Reports for Mechanical Installations.
•Witnessing T&C of Mechanical Systems and participating in Taking Over of works.
•Involved in Verification of Submitted Variation Claims for Mechanical Systems.
The Project: Jabal Omar Development Project, Phase-1, Makkah, KSA.
Applicable Codes: NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA & UPC.
Project Brief: A land mark mixed-use development that includes:
• 10 No’s Five Star Hotel towers (Operators: Conrad, Hilton, Hyatt and J.W. Marriott) spreading over on 4 podiums the height of Towers ranges between 20 and 30 stories.
• Residential Villas/Apartments
• Shopping/Commercial Centers & Food Courts
• Public parking Structures
• Infrastructure Utilities Networks of approx. 2.5 K.M. long and Pumping Stations for domestic water, storm water drainage, sewerage, firefighting Systems to cater 38 Nos. High rise Towers.
Responsibilities:
General:
Construction Supervision of HVAC, Fire protection and Plumbing Installations for Buildings and Utilities Networks.
Buildings:
•Carrying out inspections at all stages i.e. Pre installation stage inspection, in-process inspection and final inspection.
•Attending all Site progress reviews and Walkthrough meetings and reporting the Resident Engineer. Participating in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly Progress reports.
•Assisting the Resident Engineer in preparing the Site Instructions and NCRs.
•Witness and approval of all Testing and Commissioning activities for all Mechanical Systems including:
•Fire sprinkler+Hose System, FM-200 System, Foam System, Water Mist system, Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression System.
•Air Balancing of FCU’s/AHU's/FAHU’s & APU’s.
•Smoke Management System (Stairwell Pressurization, Elevator Hoist Way Pressurization, Smoke Extract, etc.)
•Chilled water System (Chilled water Balancing, Automatic chemical dosing unit, Pressurization system & Related Controls).
•Water supply Systems (Domestic Cooled Water, Hot Water & Treated Grey Water)
•Testing and Commissioning of Booster Pumps, Lifting Pumps & Recirculation Pumps for Water Supply.
•Assisting the Resident Engineer in Issuance of Snag list and Taking over Certificates.
•Participating in De-snagging and Project Close out.
•Verification of O&M Manuals and As Built Drawings.
Infrastructure:
•Supervision of site wide Mechanical Utilities installations and T&C of systems. These Utilities include Potable Water Supply, Gray water, Central Vacuum System, Fire Fighting, Drainage and Storm water piping Networks in coordination with District Cooling piping network of more than Two kilometers long, including the Pumping Stations and Connection rooms for the respective Utility.

•Assisting the Design Team by performing the Heat load calculations, Duct designing, Pipe sizing, pump head and ESP calculations etc.
•Coordination with design department for the preparation of shop drawings.
•Assisting the Project Manager in preparing the Material submittals for Co.
•Liaison with the consultants & Main contractor.
•Ensuring quality of works by carrying out aggressive and effective supervision.
•Supervising Testing & Commissioning of systems.
•Preparation of As-Built drawings and O&M manuals.
