Develop and implement security standards for aviation security equipment.
Evaluate new security technologies and assess their suitability for use in airports.
Ensure that all security equipment complies with applicable regulations.
Provide technical support to airport security personnel.

Make sure that employees and technicians are trained in security equipment and systems by the contractor.
Knowledge of Annex 17 - Aviation Security:
Understand the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and recommended practices (SARPs) for safeguarding international civil aviation against unlawful interference.
Familiarity with Aviation Security Manual (Doc 8973): Possess a working understanding of the guidance provided by the ICAO on implementing Annex 17.
- Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
- Controls project costs by monitoring project progress; administering contractor contracts.
- Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
