Aug 2023 to date, I am holding the position of structural engineer in AECOM.
In this position, AECOM works as an EPMO with Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority -ZATCA-and I am responsible for the structural works with the engineering department in the ZATCA, My duties under this position are not limited to:
• Lead teams in the process of preparing RFP documents of all disciplines, the documents include:
1. Scope of Works.
2. BOQ.
3. Tender drawings.
4. List of experience required for the project.
• Visit and Assessment of the ZATCA buildings in the various locations and define their requirements for refurbishment and upgrade building capacity.
• Defined the scope of works in the Task Orders of consultant.
• Checking and approving the project submittals of structural and civil designs.
• Reviewing the submitted structural design from the ZATCA consultants.
• Checking and approving the project materials submittals of structural and civil works.
• Assistance ZATCA in overcoming all design challenges appearing in the execution stage.
• Checking the assessment report for the contractor of ZATCA.
During this period I was approved by AECOM as a lead verified in construction management, the Areas of Technical Specialty are:
1- Structural buildings.
2- Constructions Management, and.
3- Preparations RFP.
In this position, I am responsible for managing infrastructure projects funded by Donors, construction of new health facilities, and extension of existing health facilities. My duties under this position are but not limited to:
• Develop project activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure efficient communication in projects.
• Develop a plan to monitor projects.
• Establish and update the infrastructure projects’ database.
• Prepare technical and financial reports for the Projects.
• Contribute to International Agreements preparation related to Projects.
• Conduct site inspections.
• Manage resources for the Project Management Department.
• Active member of the Technical Committee of Jordanian National Building Codes.
• Active member of the national committee to develop construction new health facilities criteria.
The total value of projects is approximately $150M USD which are donated by multiple organizations including USAID, European Union, multi-donor account, and more. The current main projects being managed by the Department are:
1- Extension of hospitals (around 12 projects) including Al Bashir Hospital, Princess Eman Hospital, Prince Faisal Hospital, and more.
2- Develop a Master Plan for Al Bashir Hospital.
3- Construction of new Health Care Centers.
4- Equipped projects.
5- Raya project.
My job as Act a Head of the Projects Management Department includes both technical and Management aspects of the infrastructure projects funded by the decentralization budget and few Donors, construction of new health facilities, and extension of existing health facilities. My duties under this position are but not limited to:
• One of the most important jobs I managed in this period and became a great achievement added to my experience was finishing the construction of the radiotherapy building in the Al Bashir Hospital This project is a unique one as it was designed under Concrete Codes and Standards for Nuclear Power. The importance of this project comes from the installation of a radiation machine that is used to cure cancer and the concrete shelter must be without any cracks to avoid any radiation leakage. The total cost of this project is $4M USD over 6 months period. My duties as a project manager were to:
- Check all concrete structures designed and other calculations.
- Attend the contractor Requests for Information (RFI’s).
- Check Calculation and Installation of Concrete formwork.
- Approve and check all Material submittals related to civil engineering works.
- Check Concrete pouring and Rebar installation.
- Manage progress claims and issue related payment certificates.
- Check the progress of the activities within the program of works.
- Report project status to my supervisor.
• Supervise the decentralization Projects in the health sector.
• Develop project activities of decentralization projects in the health sector.
• Follow-Up Decentralization Projects Financial Expenditures in the Health Sector.
• Representative of the Ministry of Health in the meeting with Decentralization members.
• Prepare Technical and Financial reports for the Projects.
• Prepare the tender documents for decentralization projects for the extension and renovation of existing buildings. Our responsibility was to visit sites, determine the scope of work, and prepare the related technical specifications and engineering design. The following were the projects that I managed during this period of time Projects:
- Construction of Subiha Health Care Center.
- Construction of Al Mnara Health Care Center.
- Construction of Majdla and Salfa Health Care Center.
- Extension of Al Pishrihh Health Care Center.
- Extension of Shafa Bdran Health Care Center.
- Construction of Rbah Al Srhan Health Care Center.
- Other projects.
• Member of follow-up health projects committee with the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
• Member of the handover committee to the projects with the Ministry of Housing and Public Works and Ministry of Health Projects.
• Member of the owner-representative committee to the projects with the Ministry of Housing and Public Works and Ministry of Health Projects.
• Member of the national committee to develop construction new health facilities criteria.
• Advise the Decentralization Board when they prepared the infrastructure projects budget for the health sector in their governorates.
• Supervise and handover the projects related to the extension of three emergency departments in Dr. Jamil Al-Tutanji Hospital, Al Ramtha Hospital, and Al Ruwaished Hospital and these projects funded were by UE.
• Supervise and handover projects related to the extension of two Heath care centers one of them is a project of extension of Amman comprehensive care center and another one is a project of extension of North Twal health care Center and the construction of a new health care center Tabarbour Comprehensive Health Center, projects funded by KOICA.
• Supervise and handover projects related to the renovation of health facilities in MOH projects funded by Mercy Corps
My job as a Civil Engineer includes both supervising and designing the health infrastructure facilities projects in the MOH. These projects included the extension or renovation of existing health facilities. My duties as a civil engineer were the following but not limited to:
• Supervising different healthcare projects including rehabilitation projects, renovation of hospitals, and health centers.
• Site Engineer for government hospitals and health care centers projects.
• Member of multiple committees responsible for preparing tender documents, offering tenders technical study, handing over projects, and supervising the Contractor works.
• Preparing the governmental tenders for construction and renovation of the government hospitals and health care centers including:
- Shop Drawings.
- Bill of Quantities (BOQs).
- Specifications.
I worked as Construction Manager Assistant for infrastructure " bridges and roads “ projects and supervised (2nr.) projects Dammam South Housing Project & Bridge Execution at the Intersection of Al Aziza Road with South Ring Road. My duties in this position were the following:
- Monitoring and controlling all resources in the site to meet the plan.
- Supervising all dewatering systems.
- Supervising and controlling all carpenter’s work, scaffolding system, DOKA system, and RMD system
- Managing all earthworks and asphalt works in my zone.
- Supervising and monitoring excavation works, rebar works, curing concrete waterproofing works, and subcontractors' works onsite.
I worked as Site Engineer on bridges and roads projects. I supervised PRINCE SALMAN ROAD, Reconstruction of a Bridge on Al Karj Road, Haroon and Istanbul Bridge, and Secondary Road in Makkah. My duties in this position were the following :
- Managing steel yard in the Jeddah branch, prepare rebar purchase orders, and facilitate the fabrication process.
- Managing all site equipment which includes mobile and tower cranes, and concrete patch plant.
- Supervising all steel and concrete works in the bridge, site steel fabrication, steel fixing, and shuttering composing.
- Supervising piling, drilling works, steel fabrications and casting of the piles, casting foundations of abutment and piers, casting a top beam of the wall, fixation barbate, embankment in the bridge, and all excavations.
- Machines, labors, materials, and accounting management
- Planning for the projects activities and reporting projects to head office.
- Explaining all concrete drawings and giving instructions to the site supervisor.
- Managing all construction works onsite including subcontractors.
