Key Responsibilities as Linux Admin:

 Perform activities such as server build & decommissioning, OS in-place upgrades from RHEL6 to RHEL7 and from RHEL7 to RHEL8
 Automate the repetitive tasks using Ansible playbooks
 Perform Linux OS patching, using a subscription manager, Satellite server or Ansible tower
 Use of scanning tools like Nessus (Tenable) and fix the vulnerability reported in scan report
 Supporting the environment of 150+ RHEL 6/7/8 Physical/virtual servers on-premise and Azure cloud
 Perform server maintenance at OS level
 Provisioning of Linux VMs using Ansible tower and manual Build using ISO image
 Disk management using LVM, fdisk
 NFS, ulimits, kernel parameters and user management
 Join & re-join the server to the domain using realm/adcli
 Perform server maintenance at the OS level
 Add/modify the templates/Projects on the Ansible tower
 Test the new playbooks using Ansible Tower in coordination with developers
 Schedule/update the frequency of the playbooks on Ansible Tower
 Monitor the Ansible tower dashboard and fix the failed hosts as per the error logs
 Establish the connectivity between Linux hosts and Ansible tower using SSH key
 Add/remove the Linux hosts to the ansible tower inventory in case required
 Manage the access of users on the Ansible tower
 Install and configure various commercial products on Linux operating systems: crowdstrike, nessus, ITM agent etc.
 Monitor the applications using App Dynamic tool
 Conceptual knowledge of Docker, Pacemaker Cluster (PCS), Kubernetes

 Perform OS patching manually using satellite server or using blade logic tool,
 Perform administrative tasks related to Linux physical & virtual server build and decommissioning
 Performance monitoring (OS, CPU, Memory, Network and Disk)
 Detect, diagnose, report, and resolve Unix/Linux Server related hardware and OS problems.
 ILO/IDRAC configuration
 Perform various activities using VM-ware i.e. snapshot management, Unix VM deletion etc.
 Disk management and configuration using Logical Volume Management tools
 Coordinate and/or perform tasks in change management windows
 Work closely with various support groups including Database, Backup, Storage, Application & Security in order to provide fast problem resolution and to improve client experience.
 Update and maintain the allocated Incident / Problem / Change control tickets in line with the Customer processes and procedures.
 Create, maintain, and update infrastructure documentation/SOPs.
 User Management
 Perform data backup/restore related activities using TSM tool.
 Co-ordinate with various vendors i.e HP.Dell and onsite data center engineer in order to replace the faulty hardware.
 Works on alerts
 RHCSA certified on RHEL 7.
 Understanding of cluster

I was a part of change management team in this organization and the client was British telecom.

Responsibilities:-

• User account integration, deletion and recovering the password from Blackberry server.
• Provide upgradation and reinstallation OS for Blackberry devices.
• Synchronization of POP, IMAP and OWA accounts withs Blackberry server.
