•Gives direct nursing care
•Observes and responds to patient’s emotional and spiritual needs if necessary
•Assist physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
•Ensures proper administration of Physician’s medical order
•Ensures that the record of all drugs, IV fluids, etc. is up-to-date as required by the Pharmacy, and ensures that the rules and regulations governing the storage and custody of scheduled drugs and narcotics are strictly observed at all times.
•Reports untoward incidents/ accidents/ staff sickness to the Sister/ Charge Nurse.
•Escorts patients to other departments/units as required.
•Prepares equipment and assists in examination and treatments, and clean equipment after use.
•Ensures that the appropriate records of the patient’s progress are maintained according to the unit’s policies and procedures. Ensures that doctors’ orders and patient management plans are followed and that appropriate steps are taken, including immediate notification of the resident/ consultant in charge or on-call, of any deterioration from the expected course of the patient’s condition.
•Maintain continuity of care take-over and handover reports, ensuring that the communication is clear at all times.
•Admits patient from Admission Office or Emergency room, orients him into his room, prepares the patient for any diagnostic procedure or operation.
Emergency Room:
•Attends to the immediate needs of patient during emergency cases
Medical/Surgical Ward
•Makes round and sees to it that all patient gets necessary care
•Takes vital signs and document it
•Provides Special care like supplemental oxygen, specialized feeding (NGT), intravenous medications, suctioning
•Administers medication as ordered
Provides direct nursing care, rotated each week in different areas of specialty like OPD, Emergency Room, OB ER, Pedia Ward/NICU, MS ward/ICU
•Makes round and sees to it that all patient gets necessary care
•Takes vital signs and document it
•Provides Special care like supplemental oxygen, specialized feeding (NGT), intravenous medications, suctioning
•Administers medication as ordered
