Reporting to the CEO (Country head) to manage and coordinate the activities of the Support Group, Centralized banking operations, Financial & Internal Control, Legal and Compliance, Information Technology and General Services Departments.
In addition to developing and maintaining a Group Strategies plan that outlines operational activities requested to support the business lines managers. The role also involved ensuring sound services and working relationships with outside services such as consultants, legal counsel, auditing firms, Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) inspectors and governmental bodies.

--BOARD SECRETARIAT :
In addition to my responsibilities as Head of Operations Division I did successfully carried out the role of the Corporate Secretary which include:

-- Undertaking arrangements for meetings of the Board, related Board Committees and the Shareholders.
-- Ensuring that the meetings conform to relevant laws and regulations, the Bank’s articles of associations, individual Board and Committees charters, and best practices.
--Communicating the Board’s and Shareholders’ resolutions and policies to management and follow up on their implementation, via the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
--Providing preliminary advice and recommendations pertaining to legal, regulatory, and governance issues and practices related to the Board and Board Committees.
--Managing the secretariat office to serve as the center for corporate records such as the juristic person register, the memorandum and articles of associations, the shareholder register, and business licenses.
--Ensuring that corporate information disclosure and related regulatory filings are in accordance with laws and regulations and the Bank’s Disclosure Policy.
--Communicating to general shareholders about their rights and the Bank’s developments.
--Providing information and data concerning the Bank’s businesses to Board members to support the Board in carrying out their duties.
--Arranging director’s briefings for newly elected directors.
--Acting as administrative officer with regard to Board matters,

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS:

. Crafted the Bank’s Strategic Business Plan - SBP ( 2003/2007 )
• Designed the bank’s new organizational charts in line with its business strategy
(SBU/SU and Branches…+ issued the relevant job description for each position…).
• Developed the Standard Operating Policies &Procedures Manual ( SOP ).and positively contributed to the development of other Policies & Procedures manuals such as Credit, Treasury, Compliance, B.C.P, and Human Resources …
• Updated the SOP as the case may be, launch of new products &services, new business and or regulatory requirements,
• Member of the IT Steering Committee in charge of the implementation of the Bank’s Computer Core System ( Equation - DBA ) and other automation projects.
• Managed several Information Technology (IT) Projects which led to the implementation of many computer applications mainly those aimed at centralizing the transactions processing (Local clearing +fund transfers- inward +outward/local +overseas +foreign trade LC’ s /FDBC ’s/Clean Collections…)
• Established and led the P&P and Organizational Development Dept-( DOR )
• Established and led the Internal &Regulatory Control Unit (IRCU).
• Established and led the Central Operations Unit - (COU.)

--Local Clearing ( Cheques &Bills of Exchange country wide ).
( LAN + Automated Clearing House Application + ACH Network…)

--Credit Operations ( Bank core business : Consumer + SME + Corporate ): Loan sanction fulfilment &Administration ( Retail, Commercial, Corporate and institutional segments ).

-- Cash Management /ATM & Card Operations : Account services, Chargeback & Fraud..,

NB//Operations Division Headcount as of July 2007: 107 employees out of 800 at HO and a Branch Network comprising 70 Sales point.

• Upgraded and enhanced the transactions processing quality towards the achievement and retention of high levels of customer’s satisfaction.
• implemented effective controls to ensure that banking transactions are handled in a timely manner, accurately processed and relevant Policies& Procedures are complied with all the times
• Assisted in diagnosing the Management Information Systems ( MIS ) and in assessing the development needs ( late nineties )
• Actively participated in the Bank’s restructuring process played a pivotal role in making the organizational change happened.
• Conducted ad-hoc projects that were mainly aimed at streamlining current policies and procedures and improving Business Processes in addition to the reengineering of the Credit Processes ( end to end ) as these are supporting the bank’s core business.
