• Directs and manages the day-to-day HR Department operation. Communicates all applicable human resources processes to managers
and hotel staff relating to, but not limited to contract compliance,
disciplinary procedures, recruitment, orientation, employee relations,
benefits, performance reviews, employment verification and other HR
related processes. Counsels and/or disciplines employees as needed
through clear, calm and direct oral and written communications in
accordance with corporate and hotel specific guidelines
• Directs the hotel’s employee relations programs including picnics,
holiday functions, employee communication sources, etc. and
coordinate and directs staff through detailed oral and written instruction
to facilitate successful completion of all related events/programs.
Designs and implements new programs as may be needed for special promotions, events or programs (e.g., safety, blood drives). Ensures
events are in keeping with the approved budget.
• Directs and manages the overall function of the HRIS system including but not limited to all data entry, hires, separations, report generating and
other related HR functions. Responds to and negotiates on behalf of
the hotel for all unemployment claims.
• Directs and manages compliance and developmental training. Invites,
tracks, facilitates and
• Follows-up on training programs.
• Ensures Affirmative Action Plan compliance by training management on the hotel’s goals and interview and selection methods.
• Supervises departmental and hotel staff regarding all issues relating to workers’ compensation to ensure minimum exposure by the hotel for
related expenses
• Maintains all hotel personnel records and Human Resources files to
ensure confidentiality where necessary.
• Assists in the administration of all employee benefit programs ensuring compliance with procedures and open enrolment is successful.
• Assists in the development of all team members by developing or using predetermined programs and/or instructs in the skills and techniques
required to perform their job in accordance with the standard
determined by the corporation and/or hotel.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned such as attending
meetings in the absence of the Human Resources Manager.

• Assists in ensuring that the HR Department complies with all hotel policies and procedures, and local regulations
• Participates in the preparation of the Personnel Department budget and related budgets

• Implements and assists in monitoring employee relations programme and organises employee activities monthly.
• Establishes and maintains effective employee relations
• Carries out the fire, safety and evacuation procedures as required by the hotel fire policy.
• Carries out follow up interview within 6-8 weeks for all new employees.
• Carries out interview with all departing employees.
• Carries out any other reasonable request as assigned by the HR Manager .

• Coordinate training initiatives in conjunction with departments, Director, Human Resources and any Trainers by coordinating sessions, creating communications, and tracking participation and feedback.
• Maintains employee and applicant TMs' notice boards.
