Click to edit position descriptionMy current responsibility is providing consultancy to one of Cisco customers located in KSA \[Mobily\] for all the technical issues related to operating IGW/MGN Networks \[Internet Gateways/Mobily Global Network\]
IGW/MGN Support Engineer Responsibilities:
- Identifying & recommending improvement opportunities that are consistent with the client needs.
- Internet traffic manipulation across all Mobily international links to avoid congestion & achieve better traffic distribution.
- Introducing new international links into Mobily network through four phases: testing, bringing into service, directing traffic and evaluating performance.
- Handling all individual/global incidents for Mobily customers escalated from the FO \[Front Office\] team.
- Generating periodic reports that reflect Mobily IGW/MGN network KPIs such as availability, utilization & adherence to predefined SLA.
- Ensuring that all routers/switches have unified and updated software and performing all needed software upgrades & SMUs Installations.
- Validation and execution of work orders received from projects/planning team.
*Managing & Operating Vodafone ADSL and Enterprise Network
-Final line of troubleshooting for access network cases
-Final line of troubleshooting for core network cases
-Final line of troubleshooting for global customer cases
*Managing & Configure Vodafone New Enterprise Customers
- Recommending changes for customer’s setups
- Configuring the customer’s network end-to-end and ensure reachability
*Vendor Management
-Negotiating the support contracts with our vendors
-Opening cases with vendors in case support is needed from the vendor
-Conducting periodic meetings with the vendors
-Handling RMA requests with the vendors
-Periodic vendor evaluation
*Recommending changes for Core Planning & Design teams
*Maintaining Network and Customers availability, MTTR and KPIs within agreed levels
- Acting as a backup FO \[Front Office\] engineer in case of emergencies.
- Providing technical support & guidance to FO engineers.
- Technical Coaching: Ensuring proper technical development of new staff skills.
- Following up with any critical & major network problems 24x7.
- Handling all network incidents & complaints escalated from the FO engineers.
- Reporting unsolved cases to Second Line Support team, follow up with them & making a clear handover to FO engineers after the case resolution.
- Troubleshooting ADSL customer and network problems
- Troubleshooting SDSL customer and network problems
- Operating and Managing Vodafone International Links
- Troubleshooting VPDN Customers
- Detecting points of attack in Vodafone Network
- Performing Backup for all Vodafone Network devices
- Preparing Periodic Reports regarding the network performance
- Building MRTG Database for Vodafone Network
- Working within a team in preparing weekly, monthly & yearly Vodafone network performance report
- Dealing with different types of Network tools (T2000, AWS, SolarWinds, Huawei BMS, Huawei DMS, U2000 for OSN’s, InfoVista, CACTI)
- Working with Huawei DSLAMs, NE40, NE20, OSNs
- Working with Juniper and Cisco Routers and Switches
- Working with Alcatel Routers, DSLAMs and Mini DSLAMs
- Dealing with Vodafone Mobile Network ( HLR’s - GGSN’s - SGSN’s - Radius )
- Dealing with Vodafone DNS’s servers and it’s problems
