Managing cost recovery process through handling government audits on BP.
Handling all communication related to cost recovery with EGPC and EGAS.
Handling physical counts (assets/inventories).
Managing government audit exceptions though, minimizing raised current audit exceptions, solving and negotiating historical audit exceptions.
Reporting audit exceptions status to the top management in BP Egypt and to the center).
Managing incoming partner audits.
Participating in JV audits.

Acting as a focal point for responding on cost recovery questions and advices.
One of two members who form BP Egypt SPU’s inventory team (recording, reconciling, physical counts, and pricing).
Handling the audit communication concerning inventory and wells (external audit, partners’ audit, and government audit).
Carrying out the process of accruals for the projects and facilities for different Oil & Gas concessions, in this process I discuss the VOWD (Value of Work Done) with the cost controllers, and post the required accruals, and monitoring the actual cost of major BP Egypt projects.
Handling the capitalization process for the Drilling Teams.
Handling some special handling treatments.
Handling the exploration and oil cost trackers for budget vs. actual analysis.
Participating in BP Egypt SPU implementation for the SAP system.
Participating in handling disputed matters with the Joint Venture and solving them.
Acted as a focal point in my team for responding to government and partner audit exceptions.
Creating process documents for processes I’m responsible for.
Responsible for JV receivables, I was responsible for the invoicing process, following up on payments, and settling old balances, and communicating the results to CFO, and JVs seconded accounting managers, during the 16 months in which I was responsible for the JV receivables I’ve managed to reduce the balances by 39 % (Average of both JVs) .
Carrying out different types of assurance services e.g. (Audit & attestation, agreed upon procedures, limited review).
Participating in the preparation and preparing the financial statements and related disclosures.
Working on the audit program with my team to test, gathering, evaluating, & collaborating evidence to support our opinion on the clients’ financial statements representation.
Coaching other less experienced team members and new hires, leading audit teams, and handling communications and deliverables with the clients’ managements.
Preparing MLPs (Management Letter Points) for the client, which gives the clients an adding value accounting and operating wise.
Making orientation for new comers for our department for our audit approach and relevant software used in our work.
Participating in accounting & audit simulations in universities as the AUC and the GUC.
