High level duties and responsibilities include:
1. Management reporting of PMCL and all its subsidiaries on consolidated and standalone basis;
2. Ensuring all closing activities completed within the stipulated deadlines for timely Management Reporting;
3. Acting as a Super User in Oracle GL module to ensure all transactional activities are executed smoothly;
4. Ensuring compliance with SOX controls as per guidelines communicated by Veon Group. Also, acting as a SOX tester for Veon Group’s Management Self-Assessment Initiative;
5. Coordination with the Taxation teams, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams, Internal and External auditors etc.
6. Ad-hoc Project Management and automation exercises for the company in areas of Finance Operations

1. Hands on Super user experience in Oracle E business suite (R12 and R11).
2. Month-end financial closing of 6 entities and their consolidation
3. Management Reporting, consolidation and Executive Dashboard preparation for the CFO and analysis
4. Financial Reporting in accordance with the IFRS and local laws and regulations (Experience gained in a public listed company) and variance analysis
5. Internal and SOX controls over Financial Reporting and GL including Internal Controls testing
6. Ad-hoc Project Management (Data migration, Automation, Historic data drill-down and analysis for taxation authorities
7. SLA monitoring, as part of Shared Services and Service Operations business models
8. Project Presentation for Executive Management review
My roles and responsibilities mainly include:
1- Analyzing the monthly Management and Production Accounts of the company’s cement manufacturing plants along with a detailed and critical variance analysis of individual line items;
2- Preparing condensed and annual Statutory financial statements of the Company including related notes in accordance with the IFRS;
3- Coordinating and liaising with external and internal auditors of the company;
4- Valuation of Import Letter of Credit (LCs) transactions entered into by the company;
5- Ensuring inter-company transactions and balances are reconciled and properly accounted for in the consolidated financial statements;
6- Ensuring all closing activities of the supporting Finance departments are closed within the stipulated deadlines for timely management and statutory reporting;
7- Monthly closure of Master General Ledger (Trial Balance) and related activities;
8- Supervising various costing related functions of the Cement Production Plant; and
9- Analyzing the financial performance of other Key Players in the cement industry on a quarterly basis.
During the course of my services at Bestway Cement Limited, I was directly involved in the successful mapping and migration of Lafarge Pakistan Cement Limited’s (LPCL) accounting data from Oracle Financials to BCL’s own financial software. This was pursuant to the acquisition of the company by Bestway Cement Limited, as part of its expansion strategy.
As a Financial Analyst in the Financial Planning & Analysis department, I was assigned the OMNI PBS division acquired by MTBC in USA. My duties and responsibilities included:
1- Analyzing the trend of revenue and collections of the OMNI - PBS division and identifying clients which need corrective action;
2- Preparation of Practice Financial Analysis and other Ad-hoc reports for the Manager Operations, PBS Account Representatives and the PBS Division President in USA;
3- Comparing actual results of individual medical practices with plans and forecasts and identifying and monitoring negative/unusual variances;
4- Preparing financial models and MS Excel tools for rakpid availability of clients’ financial information relating to Account Receivables;
5- Analyzing pricing and fee schedules of clients with unusual/increasing Account Receivable balances; follow up plans for the medical practices of the OMNI PBS division;
6- Supporting the Financial Planning and Business Analysis Unit (FPBAu) and the Finance Department in month end closing/invoicing relating to the PBS division;
7- Supporting the migration of financial data of 70 medical practices from the PBS software to MTBC’s own tailor-made software and ensuring completeness, accuracy and correctness of the migrated data; and
8- As a special task, performing a Cost and Benefit Analysis of the operational departments of the company.
A six months internship and three-and-a-half year mandatory article-ship period (as per ICAP rules) in the audit department working at various positions starting from junior level to senior level. My experience includes carrying out statutory audits of listed and un-listed entities including Non Governmental Organizations.

preliminary surveys, and assisting the manager in risk assessment activities.
