In addition to Process Engineer I also hold the office of Planning Engineer.Few of my work samples are given here:
-I have established planning department documents management plan. Documents include drawings, manuals, Brochures, contractor’s profiles, modifications details, Instrumentations & Control manuals, Mechanical Data Books, Quotations, bills and Contracts details.
-I have prepared Storm pit discharge HDPE piping 250 m replacement proposal with complete process details, MOC selection, BOQ preparation, and installation and commissioning.
-Sized 800 m³ capacity fixed roof O-xylene storage tanks as per API Code 650 on the basis of available drawings with complete details of roof, bottom and other structure including stair. Design dyke wall, Tank foundation and Safe vapor handling system. Prepared complete BOQ of Mechanical, Instrumentation and Civil works. Collected quotations from technical suppliers for tank fabrication for cost comparison. Installation job is in Progress.
-Designed Electrical Scaffolding ladder of 11 m height for safe electrical maintenance jobs at electrical poles.
-Sized and Installed 250 m HPDE line for waste effluent discharge Piping.
-Prepared Civil Foundation for 1265 KVA Diesel Generator.
-Participated in new product development (Butyl acetate) within company resources in April 2012.
-Carried out Weigh Bridge Extension study from 60 ton to 100 ton along with road extension costing
Achievements
-Designed Pilot Scale plant, and commercialized a new product (DOA) successfully.
-Designed /implemented modification in Maleic Anhydride section to reduce 20 TPD waste water reduction through recycling/recovering the washing waste effluents.
-Successfully designed/arranged 415 ton contaminated O-Xylene safe filtration system (within the plant resources) to avoid raw material cost of worth Rs.40 Million.
-Conducted comprehensive cooling water, steam and air network audits to introduce pinch technology practical applications. Performed PA Plant Revamp Pre-commissioning, Commissioning activities in front line. Evaluated 4”, 6" and 8" Natural Gas network line sizing on the basis of 1.0 year Gas metering data and secure 0.18 RS.Million
-Prepared Executive summary for “Phthalic Anhydride” line 2 revamp to 75.0 Gm/Nm³ load with detailed Material and Energy balances, modifications revamp items cost.
-Prepared Executive summaries of WWTP baseline study for both of our two sister organizations with waste effluents load capacities of 170m³/hr and 7.5 m³/ hr respectively. Prepared Executive summary of WWTP Design Proposals that includes complete technical comparison in methodology, cost, reliability and recommendation.
-Performed PA Expansion project (2nd PA plant) Pre-commissioning, commissioning activities in front line till “Master Startup”, and smooth Plant operation. Prepared complete SOP’s of all plant sections for safe, trouble free, smooth, cost efficient Plant operations. Trained with authority in Boiler feed water, Cooling water & waste water treatment.
-Prepared executive summary of Biogas production for power generation (CHP) from wet & dry mesophilic and thermophilic world renowned technologies.
-Evaluated present time feasibility of existing projects for company business expansion. The cost evaluation conducted on the basis of contractor’s methods.
Responsible for maintaining smooth plant operation by controlling the operational parameters within the recommended limits, for maintaining safety standards, ensuring production quality and quantity as per production plan, and to manage the shift personnel as per Company rules. I got the opportunity to work on Control Systems, earlier was µXL Yokogawa and then upgraded to CS-3000. I actively participated in Instrumentation and control logic development, defined parameter limits for new process developments.

I have to conduct as private consultant in small textiles mills for energy conservation study. I proposed cost effective modifications during the mentioned period.
Responsible for maintaining smooth plant operation by controlling the operational parameters within the recommended limits, for maintaining safety standards, ensuring production quality and quantity according to production plan, and to manage the shift personnel as per Company rules. I got the opportunity to work on Control Systems PLC-5 Allen Bradley. Worked on PLC to change the logic as per requirement i.e. over ride some interlocking, adjust the timers as per process need.
The Project had to wind up after successful commissioning and 2.0 years marketing for the concerns of non feasibility and some other reasons.
After 2.0 yeras extensive traing from Refinery I have to wait for few months due to unavaiability of any vacant position in Refinery. So I have to join a private business of my friend till Attock Oil group recalled me for an interview in their new Project "Attock Industrial Projects Limited" a subsidiary of Pakistan Oil Field.
I got trained for two extensive years in different departments with following details:
-Learned to prepare daily refinery summary to MD supervised by Manager Technical Services.
-Learned Process development techniques, parameter monitoring, equipment performance evaluation, Equipment designs,
-Effectively participated in Test Runs for valuable data collection for plant performance evaluation.
-Prepared no phase change Heat exchanger Design Spread sheet to evaluate dirt factor and pressure drop evaluation of preheat train and other exchangers.
-Sketched out whole plant P&ID, Learned material and energy balances, prepared monthly activity report of all units in supervision of Manager Production.
-Trained in safety department, participated in safety drills. I remained fully involved in Annual Turnarounds of all Plant sections in 1995, 1996 and prepared Annual turn around “Activity reports” under supervision of Assistant Manager Production.
-Followed a number of maintenance jobs issuing work permits in supervision of Plant Incharge.
- Rechecked and finalized calibration of ~300 storage tanks as an assignment by Manager Production in Oil movement department.
-Proposed asphalt blending plant cost effective modification to facilitate blending operation under supervision of Production Manager that was approved successfully in oil movement department
I Started Private Science School with one of my friends.
