• Understand the safety and health requirements
• Conducting Safety orientation all workmen, staff, subcontractor & visitors.
• Communicate safety rules and standards to the contractor and sub-contractor workforce
• Inspect the work site daily, report any unsafe acts and conditions to the supervisor and/or foreman, provide recommendations to correct deficiencies and follow up to ensure corrective actions have been taken
• Participate for incident investigations, safety meeting, drills etc. and conduct/facilitate safety training sessions
• Stop work which is deemed unsafe and take corrective action
• Training to all workers and staffs concerning emergency procedures
• Organizing monthly safety meetings chaired by Project Manager.
• Ensure that all Equipment/Machinery are operated by authorized and competent personnel.
• Maintaining 5-star documentations
• Leading the induction program conducted and weekly safety meeting with line management and subcontractors.
• Training to all workers and staff concerning emergency procedures
• The Report unsafe conditions to the foreman, job supervisor and senior management.
• Planning of safety requirement for hot & cold works and confined spaces.
• Inspection of the workshop, worksite, residential camp, storage facilities, flammable material stores and chemical stores.
• Inspection of site and equipment.
• Inspection of Lifting equipment and lifting gears/slings.
• Inspection on firefighting system and other safety requirements.
• Monitoring environmental aspects and waste management.
• Imparting safety training on various subjects of occupational health and safety to for all subordinate
• Organizing weekly safety meetings chaired by the project manager.
• Conducting a firefighting demonstration for employees -Mockup Drill.
• Accident investigation & reporting procedures.
• Strict implementation of permit to work system.
• Assist in the production of a safe system of work and procedures that may be required for specific task or operations.
• Conduct and document the required training and safety induction for the workforce prior to joining the site.
• Conduct the Tool Box Meeting (TBM) and Highlight all hazards and the Safety Issues as per progress of work.
• Ensure all plant & equipment’s are to be well maintained, check the suitability of the above for work from time to time.
• Ensure that all Equipment/Machinery are operated by authorized and competent personnel.
• Ensure that arrangement for First Aid is available on site.
