A group of Companies engaged in FMCG business and commodity trading.

Detailed Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:

• Work with the business unit for scan and analysis of the current market, outline of future plans, gap analysis, KPI's and target setting. (Involved in detailed exercise channel wise, distributor wise with the sales team to highlight market gap through the secondary sales system and devise the strategy accordingly - increase in sales of approximately PKR 150 million per annum)

• Member of the investment team responsible to take decisions of the group and the Company - (investment in a new Company with a yearly saving of approximately PKR 125 million - Net of tax per annum)
Accounting, Reporting and Tax planning
• Preparation, analysis and reporting of periodic performance with the senior management team including monthly and quarterly business review with the business unit.
• Segmentation and reporting of each segment - category wise, brand wise P&L
• Restructuring of the finance function, analysing the existing roles and the requirements.
• Setting up of a complete operational audit and control department responsible to review the internal controls and establish a control environment through development of policies procedures with management approvals.
• Controlling function - developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive system of batch costing through the ERP.
• Analysed and implemented the accounting of wastages due to weight variations, which resulted in a yearly saving of PKR 25 million per annum
• GP benchmarking, setting standards for the pricing strategy. Review of market trends and industry data with the marketing and sales team for different segments and brands
• Effective tax planning for new investment within the Company and availing tax credits available as per tax law - resulted in yearly saving of PKR 18.5 million
Budgeting/ Forecasting
• Initiated budgeting activity across the organisation
• Reporting and forecasting for the operational aspects of the business, including management of operational risks and opportunities.
• Contribute to the formulation of Corporate Strategy by developing medium to long-term forecasts and leading the annual planning and budgeting process
Policy procedure manuals
• Proposed the need of policy procedures manual for each of the function across the organisation
• GAP analysis of existing procedure through a team of professional firm and operational control department in a co-sourcing arrangement
• Conversion of the operational control department into Independent Internal Audit department directly reporting to the management
• Developed a reporting mechanism for the internal audit department and alignment with the management and the BOD

ERP / IT Infrastructure
• Review of the utilisation of ERP across the organisation. Coordinated with the consultant to resolve the issues (closing and other integration issues).
• Highlighted areas which were not running through ERP and aligned implementation across those functions e.g. as marketing and promotional expenses.

Supply Chain
• Ensure effective material planning by implementing and utilisation of ERP tool for the MRP. Planning of all procurement, supplier management, inventory controls
• Review of Stock at all level. Optimised stock levels (no. of days) for effective cash flow management and reduce the stock period. This resulted in a positive cash flow of PKR 55 million

• CFO as Strategic Partner - conducted by Institute of Business Strategy, New Jersy. ( Mr. Saleem Sufi - CFO and Head of Strategy at Intercos America Inc. New York. (Four day work shop in Dusit Thani - Dubai, UAE).
• Leadership Grid Seminar - conducted by Grid International Inc., USA.( Mr. Usman Ghani - Facilitator and Lead trainer at Grid International Inc. USA.

Working as Senior Manager Finance & Accounts - Financial Controller in Macter International Limited in Karachi - Reporting directly to CFO, CEO.
Achievements:
➢ Implementation of SAP core modules comprised of FICO, MM, PP, SD, PM AND QM, in record time of six months for a large Manufacturing Company. (SAP ECC 6.0 Implementation Project)
➢ Vendor evaluation for SAP implementation and negotiated software terms and implementation cost at very attractive terms with the vendor
➢ Negotiated various financing arrangements at very attractive terms. ( reduction in cost of financing for both short term and long term financing)
➢ Review of agreements and negotiation of terms with multinational customers such as P&G, Reckitt, Novartis, Johnsons & Johnsons, Bayer, Pfizer and Merck)
➢ Brought efficiency in preparation and finalization of monthly financial statements and report to higher management on 3rd of every month
➢ Restructuring of costing and switching from Standard to Actual costing as per requirement of SAP aligned with best practices

Detailed Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives (Management Committee members) and department owners so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
• Regular monitoring and evaluation of the internal controls organisation wide.
• Ensure credibility of Finance function by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
• Reviewed business insurance coverage, identified key missing element, obtained appropriate coverage and consolidated coverage.
• Managing a large finance team including financial reporting, payable function, receivable function, treasury and ERP (SAP ECC 6.0) functionality
• Controlling: Monitoring of overall position of costs, operations & processes of the Company while ensuring maximum possible operational efficiency.
• Actively involved in management of optimum capital structure, cash flow planning and arrangement of liquidity. Dealing with financial institutions to cater the needs of the Company relating project financing (long term) and routine working capital requirement (short term financing).
• Review of existing products profitability and segment profitability the contribution and new launches
• Review of financial models for different business projects and acquisitions of the Company
• Active role to closely monitor and coordinate with the supply chain finance function to ensure smooth operations
• Actively involved in review and finalisation of master budget

SAP ECC 6.0 Implementation Project:
Apart from the routine responsibilities I worked as Project Coordinator - PMO and Power User - FICO for the implementation of SAP ECC 6.0:
a. Role as project Coordinator for PMO
b. Coordination with steering committee
c. Business process documentation ASIS & TOBE
d. Review of impact of TOBE process for integration
e. Integration of CO and PP module for product costing structure, analysing of different system req.
f. Re-designing of chart of accounts, cost center hierarchy, profit center hierarchy as per mgnt reporting requirement
g. Implementation of material ledgers - SAP speciality for actualised cost on product
h. Review of the BOM structure in legacy and its complete transformation into SAP, defining of routing and verification with the QA and technical team
i. Defining of control mechanism through release strategy in SAP to update the BOM and approval mechanism due to changes
j. Fund management - defining of fund center hierarchy, implementation of release strategy and its reporting
k. COPA reporting - designing of COPA reports, defining of allocation cycles after agreement with the respective management for different brands and categories (profit centers)
l. Managed a team of more than 20 power and functional users from different modules including FICO, PP, MM, SD, HCM, PM & COPA, FM
