K-Electric (Korangi Power Complex CCPP) Karachi Plant consist of 248 MW Generation
(04 x 48 MW GE LM6000 PC sprint Gas turbine)
(02 x 120 t/h HRSG made by MEKTA rated pressure 55 bar.
(02 x 28 MW GE steam turbines) condensing turbine made by GE energy.
(04 x 26000 Nm3/hrs. fuel gas compressors by GE energy
4 - Single compressors centrifugal chiller for each gas turbine inlet air cooling made by MC - Quay.
1 - RO plant of SWRO/BWRO/EDI capacity 50m3/hr made by GE energy.
1 - RO plant of SWRO/BWRO/EDI capacity 30me/hr made by GE energy.
3 - Instrument /plant air screw type compressors rated pressure 8.5 bar made by Atlas Capco.
Main cooling / close cooling / open cooling water network of sea water. Firefighting network
4 - Diesel generators 1.5 MW each for emergency power back - up.
11KV to 220 KV (GIS) Grid station made by Siemens.
02 - High speed diesel storage tanks capacity 48000 liters for Gas Turbines.
Prepare and update plant standard operating procedures, work instructions, and equipment checklists.
Operate gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG, balance of plant, and perform hot switching of electrical system.
Maintain logs of activities and record operating conditions for troubleshooting purposes.
Prepare and implement Permit to Work (PTW) as per standard operating procedures.
Handle emergencies during plant shutdown and national grid blackout conditions.
Maintain equipment in safe, clean, and healthy operating conditions for reliable operation.
Prepare generation book and calculate daily export/import power.
Utilize SAP operations, maintenance, and procurement modules.
Operate Reverse Osmosis (RO) & EDI systems.
Serve as a Designated Person (DP) for isolation of various equipment.
Maintain Sub Stations, 11 KV Switchgear, UPS, Battery Rooms, and Local Instrument Room.
Perform Lockout and Tagout during equipment isolation for maintenance.
Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, principles, and code of practices.
Carry out high-voltage switching from the control room, as instructed by the Shift Manager.
Monitor ACC (Air Cooled Condenser) compressed air flow and pressure, fire control panel, and take necessary
actions according to established requirements.
