Market leader in Agrochemicals / Crop Protection Industry 2000 - 2008

• Partnered the commercial leadership in the development and execution of a major business diversification strategy, resulting in a preserved market leadership position in spite of a major reduction in the market due to the introduction of new technology cotton seeds by competition (Cotton is the largest crop protection / agrochemical sub - market in Pakistan).
• Played a leading role in a major business improvement initiative to renew and strengthen a franchisee system for distribution, contributing to sustained market leadership. As a result, increased customer satisfaction and process efficiencies in customer services provided by finance and operations functions.
• Instituted Treasury, Tax / Transfer Pricing and other corporate functions and implemented new global finance policies and strategies for a newly formed Syngenta Pakistan legal entity (post global merger of Novartis and Astra Zeneca's Agribusinesses). Streamlined the necessary legal entity restructure for the newly formed company and developed the governance structure including serving on the Board of Directors and as Company Secretary.
• Contributed to further development of pricing strategy to realise Syngenta's financial objectives in a highly competitive market.
• Introduced a balanced scorecard based business performance management system at the country leadership team level.
• Co - sponsored and steered implementation of global SAP systems to run finance, commercial and supply operations.
• Proactive and pioneering work in the development of frameworks, organizational engagement and capability for strong compliance risk management culture and program including SOX Compliance (effective control over financial reporting).
• Facilitated the introduction of global leadership frameworks and led continued development of a strong finance team to support development and execution of the business strategy and plans.
