My responsibilities during this job are:
• Developing products, designs and processes that are efficient and deliver quality products
• Designing and analysing mechanical components, development, and documentation for systems of varied complexity from concept through production
• Developing and documenting test equipment for mechanical assemblies. Analysis, design and testing at the component and systems level
• Interacting with customers to gain an understanding of the product requirements, defining scope, plans and deliverables for assigned work
• Partaking in customer marketing, financial negotiation, purchase negotiation with suppliers and think-tank strategy
• Played a key role in designing a robot to compete in the Lego Olympics which resulted in our team ranking 4th out of 22 teams
• Used both MATLAB and LabVIEW to program the NXT brick to perform the required tasks in accordance with the design of the robot
• Designed and fabricated a robust design in over 5 weeks, coming in 30% under the maximum allowable budget of £300
My work was to support and contribute to a US$ 500 million Development Fund established by the Bank to empower SME's and startups around the world by providing them with grants or taking an equity participation in their projects/ideas. Total of 1, 570 applications received from 81 countries. My tasks involved:
- Working in a team of 6
- Screening applications received under the Fund - 300 applications screened
- Making weekly reports on the applications received to be presented to the BoD
- 5 reports with visual and detailed analysis to be sent to the President of the Bank
- Coordinating between the departments and external entities (consultants, website developers) that have been hired. Furthermore, I created a brochure and several infographics for the department to outline the work done visually.
My roles during this job were;
- to provide clerical support to the Home Manager and other staff
- Answering phone calls and delegating them to respective staff
- Recording information on Excel Spreadsheets
- Dealing with daily mail
- First point of contact for enquiries from clients
• Lead a team of 5 into coming in at 2nd place in the 2018 Mechanical Design Competition
• Designed an electric assisted bike aimed at women 55+ as part of a cardiac rehabilitation program
• Optimised the load capacity to a 30% increase over the initial design and tweaked the design such that it resulted in reduction of the initial cost by 20%
• Generated a 3D CAD Model of the bike seat design in SolidWorks and 3D printed a prototype to present in front of 250 people
