Leading the Data Center team in the Information Infrastructure Line of Business
Supporting our customers to optimize the datacenter performance and getting the optimum
resource’s utilization
Leading the technical installation, implementation and support activities for 3 projects in KSA and
2 projects in Ethiopia
Delivering consultation services for the Data Center Solutions
Auditing and evaluating the technical activities delivered by third party partners or
subcontractors
Attending the new products training sessions with our partners
Supporting the sales and pre-sales team to get new opportunities from our customers
Estimating the installation, implementation and support man days for the proposed technical
solution and opportunities.
Supervising the enrichment of the company knowledgebase system by the team activities
Performing performance evaluation of the team members
Performing technical interviews for the new hired candidates
• Supervising the other engineers in completing their tasks
• Ensuring that other team members with cross working relations have the information they need to successfully complete their work
• Informing the technical architect and project manager of any issues that may affect other areas of the project.
• Participating in the performance evaluation of the engineers.
• Supporting engineers during installation and implementation activities
• Monitoring and following up on the engineers preventive maintenance visits
• Ensuring that tasks are completed within the requested timeframe to meet the client’s requirements
• Preparing and submitting weekly and monthly progress reports to clarify the current status and progress of assigned task
• Supporting the team leader during new hiring and selection phase.
• Handling and organizing the down time activities with its procedures.
• Working on the organization standard documentation design.
• Delivering technical trainings to the internal technical teams.
• Leading the installation & implementation team who had relocated & installed the data centers in the new Giza Systems headquarters.
• Working in the 24/7 customer support for the hardware, operating systems and storage.
• Concerning about the troubleshooting procedures and identifying the root cause of the incidents.
• Supporting our customers remotely in Emirates, Qatar and KSA.
• Supervising and evaluating the summer training trainees.
• Writing and maintaining operational, configuration, installation and DR procedures.
• Monitoring and managing system resources including CPU usage, disk usage and response times to maintain operational stability on core systems
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing the production problems and correcting identified problems
• Installing and maintaining system and application software and keeping patches up-to-date
• Managing, administrating and maintaining a network with more than 500 Sun SPARC servers.
• Administrating of the Sun Solaris, AIX and Red Hat Linux Operating System
• Testing the hardware and software on site for the purpose of UAT.
• Installing and maintaining the Dell Power Edge servers (PE 1850, PE 1950, PE R610)
• Restoring systems and data in event of system failure or other unforeseen disaster.
• Preparing and documenting the procedures for the technical activities
• Completing all the appropriate documentation which is required by the customer
• Performing the periodic maintenance on EMC Clariion CX700 SAN storage
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing the EMC Clariion CX700 SAN storage.
• Hardware conversion from EMC Clariion CX700 to CX4-480
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing the SAN Storage: EMC Clariion CX500, CX600 and CX4-480
• Troubleshooting and diagnsing the CAS Storage: EMC Centera Gen4LP, Gen4 and Centera CUA
• Upgrading the EMC Clariion Software - FLARE OE.
• Upgrading the EMC Centera Software - CenteraStar.
• Hardware conversion from EMC Clariion CX500 to CX4-480
• Performing periodic maintenance on the EMC Clariion and Centera.
• Installing and maintaining Sun SPARC servers: Sun Enterprise 250, Netra120, Netra210, NetraT2000, Sun Fire280R, Sun FireV480
• Performing periodic maintenance on the Sun Tape Library: StorageTek L20
• Performing periodic maintenance on the HP Alpha serverGS1280, ProLiant (DL380, ML370, DL580)
