Projects: Miscellaneous support on piping, that includes modification/Replacement and New installation of pipe spools at Gas wells, Gas & Oil Separation Plants (GOSP), Gas plants and on piping distribution network. The tasks involve mainly, Cold Cutting, Welding of Flanges or jointing of new spools, Hydro testing of the new/modified pipeline or Weld Testing of newel installed flanges from 2” to 36”.
Job Responsibilities as Safety Advisor/Supervisor:

• Providing advice and guidance to management on law and environmental Legislation applicable to organization.
• Allocating Safety team i.e. Safety Officers and Safety Engineers for newly awarded projects, and collection of daily, weekly and monthly report of their sites.
• Review the contractor’s SH&E plan and ensure that it is in compliance as per the client and other legal requirements.
• Review the contractor's method statement and risk assessments and ensure are relevant control measures are addressed.
• Continual monitoring to ensure that all the control measures are implemented on the site.
• Continual monitoring of Local KSA legislation and concurrently updating project specific policies, strategies, rules and requirements.
• Carry out SH&E inspection with contractor personnel and ensuring all the corrective/preventive actions are closed out.
• Ensuring the timely action on the SH&E observations raised.
• Proactive and reactive project monitoring including monthly SH&E inspections and full safety management systems auditing as undertaken to ensure systems compliance.
• Seek continually improvement opportunities within administrative and site based SH&E systems and procedures.
• Promote safety and environmental initiatives and campaigns.
• Follow-up contractor’s incident investigation and ensuring close out actions are timely completed to prevent reoccurring.
• Organize SH&E meetings with staff, clients & top management.
• Organizing and conducting induction training.
• Prepare Monthly SH&E report in conjunction with contractor personnel and submitting to the client.
• Conduct internal Safety Audits and providing assistance to external auditors.
• Controlling subcontractor’s activities through procedural controls i.e. permit to work system and continuous monitoring through workplace inspections, and coordination with client for the successful completion of the project.
• Identify the potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery, and equipment.
• Providing suggestions during procurement of new Machinery and equipment by reviewing their specifications to make sure they meet safety requirements and client standard.
• Reviewing employee safety training and refresher training programs and recommend improvements.
• Investigation of industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine their immediate and root causes through suitable tools i.e. Fishbone analysis and suggesting preventive measures.
• Evaluation of corrections that were made to remedy violations, accidents and other safety observations identified through inspections.
• Interviewing and consultation with employees both formally and informally to learn about work environments and incidents that lead to accidents or injuries.

New power supply to customers, System Expansion, system upgradation, conversion of Over Head (O/H) Network to Under Ground (U/G) 13.8Kv. that includes installation of Electrical Poles, O/H Conductors, Stringing, Transformers and Tie-ins. U/G network includes Excavations, High Voltage (HV) Low Voltage (LV) Cable Laying, Switch Gears, Unit Sub-Stations, LV Panels, Metering Assembly, terminations and splicing to Energize the system.

Job Responsibilities as Safety Officer:

• Coordinate with construction team and other safety officers so as to maintain safe work environment and ensuring resources required for daily field works are available.
• Ensuring the precautions i.e. work permit, informative banners, PPE’s and Area barricading etc., are done before starting the work on electrical system.
• Preparation of hazard identification plan (Risk Assessment) for the project and providing support in managing and implementing required safety controls on all types of work activities according to Risk Assessment.
• Conducting regular and random site visits and highlighting lapses through safety observation reports whenever seen any deviation from client (Saudi Electricity Company) standard, and suggesting corrective actions, and maintaining records of open and closed observations.
• Ensuring and providing guidance to employees regarding defined Incident/accident reporting system and emergency response plan of the company.
Arrangement and Induction of new employees to create awareness regarding site rules and regulations.
• Ensuring the work permit system and Method of statement is followed before starting and during the work.
• Site traffic control measures and monitoring inside fenced area.
• For working at height ensuring Scaffold erected as per standard and ensuring construction, dismantling and modification is always carried out by certified/competent scaffold team.
• Inspection of firefighting equipment’s.
• Inspection of portable hand tools and power tools and their color coding.
• Monitoring rigging operations & all types of heavy lifts, including Inspection of Rigging tools and tackles and ensuring that crane operator & riggers are qualified and trained.
• Monitor Civil Activities (Excavation, trenching, Shoring, Benching) to ensure, that meets the Safety Standards.
• Observation through safety tours to ensure workers are best suitable for the type of task to be executed by them and suggesting further trainings if required.

• Preparation of BOQ’s for the projects with scope of work:
 Construction of O/H feeder line 13.8kv.
 Construction of U/Ground feeder line 13.8kv.
 System Upgrading i.e. replacement of Tfmr 100kva to 200kva
 Conversion of Overhead network (13.8kv) to underground etc.
• Supervision of CAD operators in making of As-Built Drawings, & cross checking before submission to client.
