Production Planning and Control

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Planning and Control:
•Supervising all activities related to PPC & SCM Department; monitoring production related tasks including planning & control, resource planning, equipment management, etc. for achieving planned periodic schedules.
•Developing Production Plans and Schedules as well as managing and controlling Plant Inventory.
•Preparing Capacity Plan according to the yearly targets.
•Involved in Model Mix Sequence Planning, Production of New Models, preparation of Contingency Plans, etc.
•Adhering to Schedule, Sequence & Service level; ensuring delivery performance monitoring & control.
Material Management / Inventory Management:
•Ensuring material issue control and inventory level management of WIP and Finished goods.
•Regularly performing shop wise inventory monitoring and controlling.
•Conducting demand based Supply Planning for market changes as well as Spares & Warranty Claims Planning.
•Handling Product Matrix & Visual Display Creation.
Liaison & Co-ordination:
•Liaising & interfacing with various departments (Sourcing, Production, Sales and Logistics) for smooth functioning and accomplishing production as per Client requirements & organizational guidelines.
•Co-ordinating with Vendors, Suppliers, Clients and other stakeholders in order to achieve the scheduled volume and service levels.
•Organising CFT Review meetings with Production, Purchase, QC, Suppliers and Marketing team.
Documentation & Reporting / Audits:
•Carrying out continual BOM Validation & Corrections and Creating Production & Materials BOM.
•Scheduling internal surprise audits for the effectiveness of Inventory and WIP Management.
•Creating Engineering Design Modification (EDM) Proposals and ensuring its implementation.
Quality Compliance / Process Enhancements:
•Maintaining quality systems and process control records by interacting with the quality department for detection of potential deficiencies and implementing corrective actions.
•Efficiently following effective Line Balancing & Lean Manufacturing techniques.
•Implementing various techniques for cycle time / cost reduction, entailing identification of opportunities, analysis of data, conducting tests, cost benefit analysis and implementation.
•Following-up on repetitive shortage & conducting gap analysis.
•Performing production pre and post sign off for all new aggregates.
•Checking on negative WIP, COGI Analysis and Reduction.
SAP Implementation:
•Ensuring Input & Output Reconciliation in SAP for Material accountability.
•Carrying out entry of creation and confirmation of production and WIP in SAP.
•Successfully developed IOR and Reconciliation tool in SAP.
Notable Accomplishments
•Successfully converted & despatched Return & Non-Moving Engine to Vehicle Production, leading to reduction in Inventory by 207 Lakhs during 2013 -14.
•Instrumental in carrying out Kan-ban implementations for Pistons, Liner, Turbocharger for assembly line, thereby reducing inventory by 93 Lakhs & Space by 30
