My responsibilities include not limited to:
- Creating policies and procedures for Treasury Department.
- Establishing Investment policy for capital market in both local and international markets.
- Setting market risk strategy for both money market and capital market and setting the maximum exposure limit that complies with the Central bank regulations and Basel III.
- Setting business plan in accordance with different input from corporate and retail business and the expected balance sheet.
- Participating in setting the physical layout in term of system requirements and staffing.
- Establishing new relationship with corporate and financial institutions.
- Assisting in cross selling between different departments, and marketing treasury products.
- Training employees and assessing the needs within business plan.
- Pricing retail and corporate products which is not filled within ALCO approvals.
- Adopting best practices for Treasury team.
- Introducing new products to get Sharia approval.
- Monitoring daily legal liquidity of the bank.
- Rendering advice to ALCO in terms of directing the assets and liabilities structure and the profit rate risk related to the mismatch within budget and plans in relation with the interest rate expectations.
- Establishing contingency funding plan for the bank.
- Participating in ALCO and rendering advice to CEO on market behavior and investment plans.
- Member in different committees internal and external (Central bank, Bankers union).
- Establishing Market risk limits for treasury department (approving hedging tools to be implemented).
- Identifying the market risk elements in product development process in respect to treasury perspective.
- Reconciling subsystems with the general ledger to monitor the deviations.
- Managing fixed income products within the bank and identifying tools to hedge such products.
- Establishing new products for treasury and retail.
- Managing the external relationship with financial institutions and regulators of treasury products.
- Identifing the best TP rate which reflects the managements need to direct resources.
- Assesting Corporate and retail banking in developing their budgets in term of volume and rates within liabilities and assets mix.
- Analyizing market trends and internal conditions and their effect on the cost of funding and revenues.
- Preparing special reports with coordination with finance for marginal funding and capital adequecy constrains.
My resposibilities included but not limited to managing day to day F.X. position of the bank, as well as mentoring a F.X. team, providing qoutes for branches (localy and abroad), rendering advice concerning management of F.X. positions for the clients, establishing and alocating F.X limits among dealers and evaluating the performance of the team, in addition to defining best practices to enhance performance and establishing training programs that best fit my team. And recently I participated in the interest rates calculation project of the Arab Bank.
Taking positions in money market managing gaps and liquidity for the bank and managing Nostra accounts, in addition to participating in launching the transfer prices through bussiness units, providing and managing regional liquidity of the group and biding in the Jordaninan CD’s (certificate of deposits), TB’s (treasury bills), and treasury bonds, and helping in providing and assessing the available opportunities in the market for hedging and investing purposes.
I was responsible for F.X and Money Market trading with branches, private banking and institutions where the central operations of the Arab Bank group take place (qouting for F.X. and MM, and making speculations for the favour of Arab Bank).
Promoting private banking products mainly in F.X. and follow up with the clients, rendering advice for cash management and how to build positions with relation to the risk appetite of the client
My resposibilities included book keeping, financial reporting, and setting policies for internal control. Establishing relationships with banks and assisting other sections in establishing there budgets, Recognising the best way to find cost or revenue drivers, and establishing department's policies and procedures through best practices (through experience and others best practice), building feasibility studies and assessing available opportunities with relation to the risk involved.
Responsible for book keeping and financial reporting for two companies of the group.
