•Undertake environmental monitoring in terms Kusile Power Station Record of Decision, Construction Environmental Management Programme issued by department of environmental affairs.
•Supervising various contractors during construction activities to ensure environmental compliance.
•Maintain an environmental management system according to the ISO 14001 standard.
•Engaging with consultants during environmental impact assessments for Project.
•Compiling environmental monthly reports and environmental management review presentation for Senior Management.
•Perform ad-hoc environmental incident investigations and assessments.
•Assist in managing environment related projects contract.
•Monitoring of compliance with other relevant environmental legislation for the project.
•Conducting environmental induction and environmental awareness training courses to the contractor’s staff.
•Reporting to the senior management on all issues pertaining environmental on the project.
•Engaging with contractor to ensure that they take full responsibility for protecting natural environment.
•Provide environmental support to environmental manager and the team.
•Participate and advice during environmental contractors meetings.

•Responsible for environmental monitoring of significant aspects e.g. water consumption, electricity consumption, cyanide consumption through monthly reports.
•Liaise with relevant governments departments e.g. DAFF, DWEA, DMR and Municipalities.
•Facilitate the development of training material for formal and informal training in the Department.
•Report environmental emergencies to the General Manager and relevant government department.
•Ensuring that internal audits, external audits and Legal compliance audits are tracked down through environmental Action Tracking System.
•Assist responsible personnel to conduct environmental Risk Assessment in area of responsibility.
•Participate in mine and divisional environmental meetings.
• Coordinate the annual production and submission of mine EMP Performance Assessment Reports to DMR.
•Understand the purpose/significance of audits within the organization.
•Be familiar with reporting requirements relating to waste management.
•Understand the importance of public participation and various phases and types of Public interactions
•Be familiar with the provisions regarding water within National Water Act.
•To accurately monitor, sample and record environmental conditions as related to water and air.
