Maintenance Manager, Head of maintenance Organization structure in Shuaibah III which consists of Mechanical, Electrical, I&C and Civil Maintenance Sections with nine Engineers (four Seniors and five junior) and 66 technicians.

SIWPP is Desalination and Power Plant with 888, 000 M3 /day and 1200 MW
3X400 MW SIEMENSE turbines, 3 Boilers (ANSALDO Boilers) X Two-Pass Type “H” 420 MWe
888, 000 m3/day of desalinated water, (3X4 MSF’s units (DOOSAN’s MSF) 12X74, 000 m3/day)

MY TARGETS WHEN I JOINT NOMAC:

I entered in NOMAC as project engineer/ Maintenance Manager, while the complex was at primary commissioning stage. I defined following targets for the successful take over and efficient O&M of the complex in future;
• To get complete know how regarding all the contractual obligations with EPC, Owner and subcontractors.
• To build professional teams in all maintenance disciplines for proceeding to have a complete knowledge of future requirements for the successful take over and O&M of the complex.
• To have a careful review of all the installations of the complex and in time intimation to the related EPC for corrections according to the contract.
• To evaluate the spare parts requirements in future for successful O&M.
• To review the performance of the plant according to the committed standards and parameters.
• To defined the strategies for the best usage of maintenance team during takeover of the complex.
• To defined the strategies how the warranty issues have to be evaluated and addressed to EPC & Owner.
• To make maintenances strategies after taking over the complex.
• To plan for the continuous up gradation in maintenance performance by trainings, incentives, share of knowledge and experience, thorough review of the O&M manuals, accurate and in time spare parts evaluation and purchase, efficient implementation of maintenance controller ( SAP).
• How to give an effective coordination to other working parties on the complex like operations, planning, HSE.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Steadied and achieved the contract details by every angle for proper takeover of the complex and as a result I feel comfortable at the stage where warranty period is over.
• I have built a professional and accurate maintenance team which is performing well with the less manpower.
• I have reviewed the complex installations and intimated to the EPC for additions or replacements i-e, redundant HSU for the LP steam controls to the Dump condensers.
• I have delivered the guide lines to the maintenance crew with proper coordination of stores for an appropriate inventory level of spares.
• The available maintenance team was distributed in a well-mannered shape for covering all the operational areas of the complex during commissioning and plant taking over phase of the complex.
• I have managed the warranty issues by introducing a system where all the parties like EPC, consultant, NOMAC planning, owner remained well aware of all the warranty issues. Several hundred warranty issues were resolved by the EPC.
• I have successfully introduced the maintenance strategies for Day to day, shutdown, scheduled, Preventive, and CBM maintenance programs.
• I have assessed the training requirements for the maintenance crew to upgrade the skills and advised accordingly to the training officer. It has given good results, indeed.

In the same time Mechanical Maintenance Manager in Samra power plant Phase I (300MW) which is completed now and it’s in operation since 2005. -Phase II still under construction. -

• Pumps (centrifugal \[\{Single.-, Multistage, Horizontal, and Vertical\} variable & constant speed\], Screw, piston, gear & Diaphragm pumps).
• Fans, Forced Draft Fans, Gas Recirculation Fans.
• Compressors (Reciprocating type).
• Gas Air Preheaters.
• Francis hydraulic turbine.
 Boilers
• Corner firing, forced draft Fuel Firing type, Fairness, Air nozzles

3. In charge of mechanical laboratory Engineer whose responsibilities include:
 Vibration data acquisition and analysis, using CSI 2100 master trend, and since 2001 using of data collector enpac 1200A / intack-IRD (Rockwell Automation) and EMONITOR Odyssey Software.
 Destructive / Non-destructive testing.
4. Preparation and studying of spare parts tenders.
5. Planning and implementing annual and major units overhaul.
6. Prepare all reporting required including Annual Budget.
7. Participation in the commissioning of Aqaba second stage #2 (3 * 130 MW) Thermal units.
8. Supervision of day- to - day activities of mechanical section.
9. Preparation and performing a one month training course for fresh engineers at ATPS about operation and maintenance of the power plant.
10. Preparation of operation instruction for steam generation units, steam turbine and unit auxiliaries at ATPS .
